How was the MSRP on a 35th this high? That’s Autobahn territory. 35th edition is 27-28k depending on auto vs stick.

I second the MSRP being a tad bit higher for the 35th anniversary.

Did you buy extra products from the dealership?

Last year’s Passat GT were going for less than that. $400+ for a pimped out Jetta - if you like it you like it!

Great car, love the color, marginal lease at best comparing sticker to payment…

Yes, indeed. I forgot to mention but I also bought a bike rack and the msrp included a paint protection film. It is automatic transmission.

I probably would have done without the paint protection film on a lease.

That’s what I was thinking but then I also thought that I might buy the car out at the end of the lease.

Nice color. Glad the GLI has a proper dual exhaust now, looks much better than the single duel tips on the prior gen.

Thanks! I agree the dual separated exhaust tips make a difference.

Why would you lease this car if that was your thought? It’ll be cheaper to buy a used one, same year and same mileage when it comes time. These cars absolutely tank in value.

It probably would have just been better to buy a used one in three years and pay for paint correction.

I chose to lease it because I don’t know 100% if I will keep it or not. I’d rather have the option of giving it back always on the table.

I agree, It would have been cheaper to buy a used one but I really liked the new model and how it looks and drives.

Both of those items aren’t residualized either so you’re paying 100% of the cost. If you’re happy with the car though that’s what matters. It’s a nice car, it’s on my list to drive when my Acura lease is up next September.

I was going to say - there is no way they put residualized a bike rack and paint protection. If they did, F&I would be selling stuff left and right…

You misunderstood. It would have made more sense to simply buy the car used in three years from now. Still get the car you want, without out taking the hit of assuming the remaining buyout on a car that’s actually worth less than the RV.

Great looking car, at the right MSRP I would lease that car.

I see some of the Jetta GLI 35th anniversary editions for 23k right now. Anyone have an idea what that would do to the lease monthly?
