2019 Volvo XC60 T5 FWD Insc - Check my #s

Hey Hackers!
Can you please check my numbers and help me out!

Pasadena Rusnak Volvo in Los Angeles, CA
2019 Volvo XC60 T5 FWD Inscription
Demo model with 5000 miles
36 months/15K miles

MSRP $51,720
Sales Price $41,065.33
RV $24,884
MF .00062

Acquisition Fee $1000
Doc Fee $85
Non tax fees $327

$498/month

Can I get them to do better RV? Better MF? How is this deal? What can I do to improve it?
Also what do I ask in terms of gap, insurance, and maintenance coverage? Tires?

Thanks!!!

$498/month includes taxes

Price seems high.

Start by going to Edmunds and requesting the RV/MF/Incentives for your zip code.

RV is not negotiable. What you see is what you get. On a demo, don’t forget there is a further mileage penalty for the demo models, so it’ll be lower than the percent edmunds gives.

MF can be marked up by dealers above the buy rate, but you can’t negotiate below. You need to find out what buy rate is to verify. In my experience, Rusnak doesn’t mark this up, but it’s worth checking.

Volvo lease comes with gap, as well as included maintenance for the 10k, 20k, and 30k services, so do not pay anything extra for those. Insurance has nothing to do with the dealer.

Are you working with Chris Harrison or someone else over there?

You can bring the payment down by doing MSDs.

You should also compare the prices here against a new one going through @Benedetto

What’s DAS?incentives?

$1000 dos

$498/month includes taxes

They said I am getting $2500 incentives

Always independently verify.

With $2500 in incentives, that puts you at about 16% pre-incentive discount, which is pretty reasonable.

Maxing out MSDs will save you about $30 a month.

Also worth looking at other trim levels. Sometimes higher trim levels have better incentives/terms which makes them lease cheaper, even with a higher msrp.

This is Inscription model so top trim. But it is demo and fwd.

Should all maintenance including tires and brakes be included?
What about coverage on dents and scratches? Should that be included?

It’s the top trim for the T5 FWD, but you’d want to compare against T6 models, AWD models, etc. With my S90, it was cheaper to lease a T6 AWD than a T5 FWD.

Maintenance does not cover consumables like tires and brakes.

There are allowables for dents and scratches. This doesn’t include excess wear and tear, although I don’t personally find value in excess wear and tear plans.

Make sure you clarify the difference between cash down and cash due at sale. These are not always the same thing.

Also, 52% residual on a 51720 MSRP is not $25833.

Go to edmunds and request the mf/rv/incentives for this model in your zip so you know what you’re actually working with.

MF .00032 and RV 52%
$2500 incentives

It is with $1,000 mileage penalty.

His paperwork is showing the RV after mileage penalty as $24884.

52% of $51720 is $26894, subtract off the $949 in mileage penalty they’re showing and the residual should be $25945, not $24884.

Looks like the MF is marked up. Do you have tier 1 credit?

I didn’t look at his paperwork. Just went by what you said

26,895 - 1,000 = 25,895

When I checked incentives last month, T6 had more incentives compared to T5 and as a result T6 monthly was lower than T5. Having said that I’d definitely check with @Benedetto as CA dealers couldn’t come close to his posted deals.

Are you sure that the numbers they gave you include tax? When I put their numbers into the calculator, with the correct RV but the inflated MF, I get $497 per month with $1000 DAS assuming a tax rate of 9.5% for most of LA county.

yes I was told $498/month which includes tax with $1000 drive off (1st month plus fees). I am trying to get them down to $405/month with 4 MSDs and drive off of $800 but meeting resistance and saying that its not possible.

How did you get to the $405/ $800 DAS number?

Right now, you need to figure out the disconnect between the numbers that they’ve given you and the monthly payment they’ve given you. The lease sheet they’ve provided is not consistent with a $498/month with $1000 DAS. Until you figure out the disconnect, trying to improve things is just firing blind.

$498 with tax/$1000 DAS is a better price than it should be based on their numbers.
