2019 Volvo XC40 Lease Hack Tips

Need advice from Lease Pro here.

I’m looking at getting a XC40 for my wife (R-Design or new Inscription).
Any tips for lease?
Any deals for upcoming Memorial holiday?

I don’t find the XC40 is included in the recent Costco Volvo deal and official website only shows $1000 loyalty discount. Appreciate any tips (btw, I am from NorCal area).

Thanks!

Loyalty is $500 on a lease and there are no incentives yet.

There have been a few deals posted, search the forums. That said, no truly hack worthy deals from my point of view.

Residual & buy rate are great. No incentives other than $500 loyalty. New hot selling model means rough dealing.

They are selling at MSRP and have people waiting.
So not much incentive to deal beyond the advertised lease deal.

I’m guessing when the new refreshed v60 comes in late summer or so the excitement for the 40 might die off a bit.

Thanks for the quick reply. Guess my wife have to wait a little longer.
Even if we order now, we probably will be on the long waiting list.
I personally interested in V60 or V90 but I believe XC40 is my wife’s choice.
Appreciate the feedback!

The XC40 are hard to find and when you do the dealer is unwilling to negotiate. I settled on a XC60 instead and am happier that I did.

XC60 is probably more practical (size wise) and love the design. Good choice!

For client I was able to do $470/mo on a $43,800 car with $470 drive off. 36/12, 10k would be less

And put it in perspective… $470/mo on a $43k Volvo.

How can I blame the messenger?

I bet this sort of hysteria (among mainstream cars) will only be exceeded by the Subaru Ascent this year.

the XC40 is really nice.

I personally detest the entire “suv” concept (unless you live up a mountain and haul goats, and so “need” one)…

but I looked at it because I was ending my S60 lease in June and it’s new and relatively available now.

ultimately I decided to extend and wait for the new S60.
But as an (ugh) suv goes, it’s a nice car.

I’d MUCH rather the XC40 than the bigger XC60, if I had to choose.

I wonder if they’ll even bring the S40 or V40 to the US.

For how long did you extend? S60 is coming at the end of the year and you’ll still need to wait for the inventory to build up before Volvo will start offering any incentives.

they would only extend 3 months, until Sept.

If I have to, I’ll have the discussion with them again then, but at least it buys me some time to look around at the landscape in August.

I have to assume they’d rather I lease another Volvo than go to another company,

You can extend up to 6 months, if ordering. So tell them you are waiting for 2019 S60, or just order it from your dealer. You don’t have to buy it if terms are not good.

that’s what I told them in order to get the 3 months (waiting for the new S60).
I suspect the same story will work in Sept. if the new model isn’t out yet.

They understood not being able to order a phantom

You can extend 3 month without ordering. There was an on-line option to extend up to 3 months.

that’s not what they told me.

I used the online extension form, and got an email saying they’d confirm within 2 days.

a week later, having not heard, I rang them and was told they DON’T extend without an order.

I pushed it up the line to a supervisor who agreed to the 3 months based on the inability to order a NEW S60 without pricing or it being available yet.

that was my experience.
