Tough lease to swap on this site. They were going for crazy cheap the last few months. I would suggestion SwapaLease.com

I appreciate the advice. I was told the TRD pro’s dont lease well when i got it…I don’t think its a terrible lease for the Pro’s but its certainly not $160 a month like some of the base tacomas ive seen on here haha. I’ll do swapalease then. Thanks

Def swap a lease. We saw some going for 375-400 recently, but it is true they usually lease for over 500.

Also, check your buyout and see what offers you can get from carvana or vroom. These things also hold value very well.

Carvana recently offered me 34k…lol

Carvana has been really low lately. Vroom was much higher on some fleet vehicles I needed to move.

Im trying Vroom now. I really dont need to get rid of it but I’d like to…such a good truck.

Should i just wait for a bit longer with it? Maybe try to get rid of it at the year mark or the year and a half mark?

You probably will not move it at the current price. Unless you are willing to add an incentive or add cash with a buyout. If you don’t need to get rid of it, stick with it.

I had TRD Pro a few months back. It took me a about 3 weeks to transfer with swapalease and my payment was $434 pre-tax. I have only used swapalease for my transfers. This website looks for amazing deals. The pros were demanding a premium in AZ for awhile. That premium has gone away.

Just amazingly bad timing on my part then. Well, guess i’ll stick with it for now. Appreciate the help everyone.

Went to my dealership today to do a trade in with 4k negative equity. I wanted to get into a sr5 4runner for around 300 a month with 0 down (regular DAS) but couldnt make it happen. They were telling me numbers around 500. It being the last day of the year and them hitting their quota easily they didnt have much wiggle room i guess. I’m going to continue to try to swap the lease and revisit the dealership in a few months to see if the equity is closer to what were looking for.

EDIT: the MSRP was 42k and he was saying they “Might” be able to knock it down to 39k lol.

@Cody_Carter am i reasonable in that payment?

wow. you are so way off thinking you could get a 4runner for 300…even without rolling in 4k negative!!! good luck but I think you need to add a huge incentive

Im still working the numbers and learning about how all this works :stuck_out_tongue: . I could swing 350-400. I guess my lease price really isnt too terrible for the pro.
edit: for the MF they were offering in March.

If you find a dealer that does us bank you are in the low 400s before your negative equity. Toyota you are in the 500s

Ahhh i just did the math. I thought they were trying to pull a fast one on me at the dealership tbh. They told me they only do TFS because it became a huge hassle with their volume. They were waiting on the phone for 30 mins for the bank to get back to them when they had a lot of customers asking. This is all making sense now. I really really really appreciate your help Cody.

37000 MSRP
24050 Residual (65% assuming thats US Bank)
12950 Lease rent
360 a month no taxes or interest.

I see. So even a base model 4runner cant be close to 350. I wonder if it makes more sense to buy? i dont even know lol. I’ll keep reading

Another thing you should consider is your mileage. It looks like you are ~9 months into your lease with 13K miles. At that rate you will be a little bit over miles on a 3yr/36K lease at the end.

Consider this on both the swap and the new 4Runnner whether a lease or buy

Negative equity is 120 a month alone. So start from that. 300 with that, maybe a Hyndai Ioniq if they still around. Good luck on your transfer.

I did just skim the posts, sorry if I missed something.
I was in the market for so many cars a few months ago.
Back in September, I got an offer for a Tacoma TRD Pro Calvary blue for around $300 before MSDs.
@tacooo Almost signed, but then ended up getting a 2019 4Runner TRD Off Road for $347 a month after max MSDs and $1500 at signing instead. The cap cost was around 37500.
This was the time dealers were just starting to get 2020s on their lots.
