For those who are interested. My wife currently drives a 2016 MDX, and the lease is almost up, and she’s been looking at the 2018 MDX and RXL, but now that the kids are older and don’t have bulky car seats anymore, she might be interested in the new RDX.
looks like a Stelvio from the rear
Looks good…finally an Acura with a decent grille/nose treatment… too bad the center stack looks like it was inspired by a maxi pad with wings.
“Maxi pad with wings”
I’m picking up a 2018 RDX today, if I get what the sales person promised over the phone. My total lease payment will be in the low 300 a month.
Weir cayon and Mission Viejo both have them in. I just got a call from Barrie over at Mission Viejo just now. She has several in…
Called Acura of Thousand Oaks…on sale date tomorrow…no leasing program info until then.
Test drove the new 2019 Tech package today! Was nice and like that it has more room than the 2018. downside, it has a blindspot in the back right and I am short, so making it hard to see anything, plus I have a carseat that goes on that side too. Plus I cannot rack my head as to why Acura thought a mouse pad was the new thing for the 10.2 inch screen. Downside, hard to move the pad while driving. A lot of cars these days have touch screen, so not sure why they thought mouse pad was “New.” The road noise is loud! 2018 is very qutie, compared to the 2019. You can hear the engine when you step on the gas.
Ugh!!! I was really hoping this car was going to work for us! The price is low for the tech package too. $40.000. With my lease coming up in November this price will drop and you can get for $37,000 I bet!!!
One of the reasons we ended up not getting a Lexus NX is because of that terrible track pad. No idea why anyone thinks it’s good.
BMW idrive with the finger painting for letters ftw
Thanks for the feedback, guys. We’re going to look at it tomorrow, hopefully. Anything has got to be better than the infotainment system in the 2016 MDX. I used Apple Car play on my Tiguan for the first time today. It’s all voice. I absolutely love it. I don’t even need a touchscreen or mousepad or whatever, but the RDX would be for my wife, so I don’t know how she’s going to feel about a mousepad. The engine noise makes sense - they’re using a stronger engine, but you would think that they would have used better insulation to make up for the louder engine. But 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds!!!
Oh great, another car with a trackpad
Yes, the car does have more power, I will give them that! Also the non-stick sift is a little tricky… I put the car in the wrong drive mode three times, and it can be a little overwhelming if you are not use to that system. I have also read that this type of new transmission can go out early with miles on the car! They had this same system in the two privious RDX’s ago, and they got rid of it, but brought it back!
I love the push button shift on my wife’s MDX because I can just turn the engine off, and it shifts into park for you. I accidentally did this yesterday in my Tiguan, and it started rolling down the driveway.
The engine noise is synthetic and piped in through the sound system.
Well it makes for a really loud car ride!!!
I should have posted this sooner, but it looks like you can turn the fake engine noise off - https://tiremeetsroad.com/2018/03/12/disable-acura-honda-active-sound-control-exhaust-isnt-piped-speakers/
More like CRV, but overall reviews are good.
We are going with the Lexus RX 350 when my lease is up in November! I wanted to see if the new 2019 RDX, was worth looking at, but after all my reviews on it, my mind is made up clearer now.
Nothing like a CRV! I test drove the A-Spec w/Tech. Pretty damned impressed. No deals. There is a loyalty lease…base is 379 + tax with $3k cap reduction and drive off. A-spec w/tech was over $600…HAHAHA…NEXT!
