On the surface this seems like a decent deal, but I may be an optimist:
2019 Range Rover Velar S 250
Term: 36 months
MSRP: 59,952
Purchase option: 38,519
Miles/year: 5000
Dispo fee: 495
Base payment: 667.62
Total payment: 727.71
Location: Chicago, IL
Due at signing: 727.71 + ~500 in fees
5k a year and a 4-cylinder and a demo and still over $700? To me, I think there are better bang for the buck options. I’d advise you do more research before signing.
You’re 100% right…this one just seems to fit my want of a nice interior, decent gas mileage, and low insurance vs my current. My 4 mile/30 minute commute to work adds an awful variable. Smart play is to just move out of Chicago…
Well, I dunno if I’d move instead of getting a car haha. But if you really only need 5k miles a year, at $728, you have to think about it hard.
Here’s my take:
$728 * 36 = $26,200
5,000 miles * 3 years = 15,000 miles
$26,200 / 15,000 miles = $1.75 per mile
That’s damn expensive. It doesn’t mean it is or is not worth it to you. But do consider that when mulling it over.
If a nice interior for a short mileage and long in time commute is your goal, how about a Lexus or an Infiniti or an Acura? Any of which can easy be in the $400’s, chopping that per mile cost way down.
