After a couple weeks of shopping between 4-5 Mazda dealers and walking away on all of them for not giving me my target deal, one finally reached out and agreed to it.
Year, Make, Model, and Trim: Mazda CX-5 GTR
MSRP: $ 34,915
Sale price: 33,400
Monthly Payment: $ 389
Drive-Off Amount: $ 995
Months: 36
Annual Mileage: 12
Region: MA
The best deal i was getting prior to this one was 399 + 1150 das. I was bargaining between 4 dealerships and this was the best. I offered them all 389 + 995 and walked away from each when was told they can’t do it. A week later one dealership reached out and took the offer. So I’m pretty sure I got close to the best I could.
Just use the same tactic - go to several dealerships (or call/email), Sound very interested in getting the car right away, but stay firm on the numbers. If they say no, walk away, politely. Do it with all of them, and I can almost guarantee one will cave in and call you back in a week or two. It’s my fourth lease (different makes) and it’s worked every time.
Also, i think my deal could have been even better if i didn’t have a trade. I convinced them to take my trade for 20k even though reasonably it was worth 18k at most - so here is extra 2k I got.
This is a great deal. I am also just beginning my search for a deal on the 2019 CX 5 Touring with Premium.
Got my first offer for $329 / $2300 DAS. MSRP was $30,495K. Dealer only willing to take off $1600 from MSRP.
I’d like to have a lower monthly payment (around $250) with a DAS around $2500. Do I just say to 4-5 dealers, “look - I want this car but am only looking to pay $250/month and DAS of $2500”?
