2019 Mazda CX-3 AWD Touring 36/10 - $290 mo. How did I do?

Hi guys, new poster and new lessee. I just signed a 36 month lease for a 2019 Mazda CX-3 AWD Touring with Preferred Equipment Package. Total due at signing was $2790 and I got $360 rebate. Monthly payments are $290. Did I do alright or did I get hosed? If you need any additional information to form an opinion, let me know.

What state are you in? Is the payment including tax? And MSRP with the options you got. Depending where your at it may be ok or bad. Also MF or rent charge if you have it!

Hi! Thanks for the reply. State is NJ and MSRP on the sticker is $26,340. Not sure what you mean about the tax. I paid sales tax upfront. That’s included in the cash due at signing figure.

Yeah in NJ that’s how it is for tax. I would say the CX-3 is harder to get a deal on vs the CX-5. Even when I was looking for 2018s the dealers I spoke to wouldn’t give me much of a deal. If this is the car you wanted and considering your state it is OK (I would say there’s no point in being remorseful since you didn’t post your offer beforehand!). That being said it’s current ballpark for me here in FL too when I look at CX-3s ( currently around 300 with 300 at signing but FWD/ AWD would be an extra 1000 in signing)

Edit: I see you were going for 10,000 miles, you definitely could have had 1000 less due at signing

Never ask after the deal is done

In NJ too. Honker showing even lower price-about $2378 cheaper.

That might be FWD and/or lacking the Preferred equip pack. I saw cheaper but pushed the price slider up to narrow down MSRP to be similar to OP’s.

Thanks for the input, guys. Didn’t even know about that app till just now. Entered in the details of the car I got and yeah, the range is $249-$270. Funny thing is I went in looking for a Sport model and the dealer made it seem he was giving me an upgrade to the Touring and giving me a good deal on it to make his monthly numbers. Salesman immediately asked how much of a payment I was looking to make and of course came back with exactly that number. How do I change the conversation in that situation? I’m green about lease negotiations.

Well I would say first step is to do negotiations over email. Go to the dealership only to sign! The other thing you would need to find is how well others are doing on that car, however a rule of thumb would be to get close to 10% off of MSRP as the starting sales price. Also verify the residuals and MF with edumnds to make sure they aren’t getting marked up
