2019 Kia Stinger GT1 (TX)

Greetings!

I am currently trying to lease a 2019 Stinger GT1 (or even a 2018 GT2) in Texas and have not been able to get to the price point I wanted. This is the best I have gotten so far - is this all I can do for a Stinger GT?

36/15K
MSRP $46,715
Sales Price $43200 (8%)
Drive-Off $1500
$532/mo
Maintenance & oil changes included

I plugged it into the calculator to roughly estimate what they were offering since I didn’t get a copy of the updated lease sheet. It is not exact, but pretty close.

Thoughts?

Texas sales tax is adding like $100 per month, right? Definitely ask for sales tax credits.

Is that the Kia buy rate MF? Seems high.

Eh, yea Texas sales tax on leases are just as broken as our craft beer laws.

However they did add in a tax credit (hence my using 1.5% rather than the full 6.25%). They had “capitalized taxes” around $550.00.

That MF is from Kia, yes. I got the information from one of the Kia forums.

Sorry, I missed all of that, I guess the only hope to improve the deal is lower sales price then!

I would shoot for the GT2 I was getting quotes around 15% off MSRP with the extra lease cash it would be around the same price. You should be asking for a bigger discount off MSRP that is high. Also if you don’t mind 24 months they are offering more lease cash lower money factor and higher residual. You will get a better payment even with the shorter term.

Caps - are you saying 15% off msrp and the larger lease cash making this calculator accurate for a sub 500 payment on a GT2?

I think that is possible for a 24 month lease. The only mistake you made is you put the incentives as untaxable however you do need to pay tax on them, that adds around $500. I got them down to $550 per month with 2K drive off for a 36/12 but that was back when money factor was 0.00260 and lease cash was $6500 also I am in Florida with crazy dealer fees so 1K of those drive offs are dealer fees. This is for a RWD GT2. My payment included the 7% tax. I know you need to pay tax upfront so it will be more.

@CapsCup2018 I’m confused about this. Are you saying that you were getting 15% off MSRP by including or not including the lease cash? Also, was that for MY18 or 19?

15% off before lease cash. This was for a 19. MSRP was around 53 discounted to 45 then incentives on top of that.

This is a rough estimate with the lease cash and money factor at the time.

@CapsCup2018 You did very good. I managed to get my friend 17% off MSRP before incentive for a 18 GT1 a few months ago. But so far, I only contacted 1 dealer and they were offering 2-3% off MSRP for a GT. You getting 15% for a GT2 gives me hope lol. How long did it take you to find that deal? And did you employ a specific approach?

It didn’t take that long but only 1 dealer was willing to play ball and they were 200 miles from me. You need to cast a wide net and be patient. This offer came after walking away and waiting a couple weeks I told them if they could meet my price give me a call. At month end they did. I ended up getting an S4 instead I got it for $630 per month. I liked the Kia but I liked the S4 a lot more for only $80 more per month. If you I have any more questions feel free to PM me.
