I’m shopping for a new car and I’ve narrowed it down to 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T and 2019 Kia Stinger 2.0T AWD Base model. Not sure how to use the calculator, but how do these two look to you guys?
2019 Stinger 2.0T AWD Base
MSRP: $36,740
Selling Price:~$28,000(??)
Residual: 48% (i think)
MF: ~0.002%
Term: 39 months/15k per year
DAS: $456
Monthly Payment: $456
2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T
MSRP: $31,200
Selling Price $27,396
Residual: 53%
MF: ??
Term: 36 months/15k per year
DAS: $391
Monthly Payment: $391
If you don’t need the bigger car or that many miles, that kind of $ would get you into a basic 3-series/C300/A4 at the Accord price and a decently optioned BMW/MB/Audi at the Stinger price, no?
Can’t recommend the accord I’d go as far as to say run from it , from personal experience with that specific trim you want, get the stinger premium not the base if you go stinger, and ask for a ridiculous amount of discount one dealership or another is bound to cave in , those things are just sitting at dealerships and they like to play hardball and act like it’s a Porsche or something but you gotta just stand firm, but yea those quotes are pretty high for a Kia,
Neither one is possible to get a screaming lease deal on due to minimal discounts, small incentives and low residual. They are both better off to just be financed new or CPO. Also, you’d be running the Accord out of warranty in your lease term.
What’s the residual on a 2019 Accord Sport?
Based on what? I’ve owned this car for 25k miles and it’s fantastic. Oh I had to reset the entertainment system when it froze once, that took all of 5 mins
I owned the car too , and without elaborating I’m just gonna recommend whoever is considering the accord with the 2.0 and automatic 10 speed , don’t do it to yourself read online the stories people have had with it , then thank me later , my story is that of a living hell with that car
I am a member on driveaccord and have seen no widespread issues except for screen freezing which is an easy diy fix. Every forum has a few stories of problem cars…
I’m not sure why you’d spend time telling him to stay away from the car and then refuse to elaborate as if I asked you a personal question.
Are you the dude on driceaccord who claimed his engine blew up when all that happened was the intercooler hose fell off
They were rather pushy last night (understandable) during the 2 hour negociation and before I left they asked me “what if we could do $350”. I wasn’t in the right mind set so I declined. Even if I said yes they would have to go to the owner to get the approval anyways.
They always gotta call the “owner”, “Buddha” or even Bernie Sanders to see if they can do the deal, they know if they can do it or not they just play that line , just gotta call a bunch of dealerships and yes I said call not email , call them ask for a desk manager or at least internet “manager” and shoot him your request upfront no bs just be upfront and tell him if you can do this I’ll come in and do the deal right away once your mind is set, it might take 5 dealerships or it might take 20 but sooner or later one is gonna want to move a unit and let it go for what you ask or really close , if nobody even comes close after at least 10 dealerships you know your asking to much
Because this is the absolutely wrong way to go about lease negotiation. Do your homework and make proposals over email. There are many threads discussing how to do it. Throwing out random payments is a good way to either get ignored or get screwed.
There are 0 incentives for the 2019 Stinger, but ALL the incentives for the 2018. You should find a left-over model year.
I now see why they gave you a quote of 480 a month on the Stinger. Makes a lot more sense with their RV and MF and no lease support. 350 is definitely not doable on a 2019.
Not looking much better for the Honda Accords. 2019 dropped the 10AT for the Sport trim, so either learn to drive stick or keep looking at 2018 inventory for the Sport.
There is an advertised special at another dealer for a 2018 Stinger AWD Premium; MSRP $40,535, 39 months, 10k a year. DAS is TTL, DOC ($499), acquisition ($650). They’re advertising $299 a month. I do need 15k miles a year and want $0 DAS. Can they work with me on this?
Do I qualify for all of these incentives? I currently lease a VW so does it count as “competitive bonus cash program”? The lease quotes I got was for 39 months, which is not shown in the incentives chart. How do the incentives apply to a 39 month if at all?
You’d have to talk to the dealer about what they would consider “competitive.” I think the VW may count, but talk to them specifically.
You may not qualify for ALL of the bonus cash listed there, it just shows that it’s available in some form. Autobytel doesn’t specify the specific conditions to which the incentives apply, only very generally.
I couldn’t tell ya which incentives apply to 39 month leasing. Not sure if they use the 36 month incentives for 39 month and just stretch the payments.
As for 10k to 15k, the only thing that changes really is the RV with 15k. Check edmunds for what the RV on a 15k lease would be compared to 10k and pump those numbers into the lease calculator.
