Today I picked up a 2019 Kia Optima EX with Premium Package… Love the car so far. The price I got below was by far the best. I know the Kia does not generally lease well due to high MF but I like the car alot and I love the features and tech.
I think overall I got a decent deal. I don’t have the exact cap cost in front of me but the dealer discount was about 3k with the lease cash on top of that. Every other dealer was $307 and above on this car with $1700 at signing.
I know it’s best to put minimal money down on leases as I originally had the deal at $1500 and $285 per month… Opted to knock the payment down a bit.

one fool told me $399 with 1399 out of pocket and 12k miles.
and the other moron… drum roll…
Gateway Kia in North Brunswick: $489 for 36 months, 10k miles a year, and 2k out of pocket. I told him about the other deal I got and he told me I was nuts that I didn’t take it. Idk wtf the planet this guy was from but sure as hell wasn’t Earth. OH, and the best part… and each car had a 4k markup. I asked the salesman “what the hell is this?” he says “that’s what we can legally sell the car for”. WHO THE F$@& would pay sticker for a Kia let alone a 4k markup on an Optima?
The sad thing is they get away with it every day. If it wasn’t for 3/4 of people overpaying, we couldn’t do what we do.
I’ve seen it happen with travel/reward point hacking and the more people got into it and getting outsized value, the less lucrative and more restrictive the hobby got.
A lot of people pay over sticker for a Kia. It’s crazy.
“It’s what we can legally sale the car at” is a very interesting statement. It is not only a true statement, it is one that virtually no meaning and no bearing on the conversation. Of course you can sell the car at that price, legally speaking. The dealer could legally sell it for 1 dollar or 100,000 dollars.
What goes through a salesman’s mind when he says something stupid like that?
Raceway Kia are a bunch of criminal assholes… they gave me a price on a Sorento a few months back, I confirmed all of the details with them at least 20 times and had it in writing from them. Got to the dealer they wanted to charge us 2500 more at signing and $100 more a month then the price that we had in writing from them. They gave me some crap that there was a misunderstanding on which car I wanted, when there was no misunderstanding I sent them the exact car with a link from their website and the stock number.
Then afterwards I go online on the reviews and see that they’ve done that as a normal practice with many customers
