2019 Honda CRV EX- is this a good start?

Hello all!

Just started shopping and got this quote. I haven’t started to try to “negotiate” yet but am wondering how these numbers are a start and how much room I actually have to play with…?

They’re starting you at $391, so you’re already way too high. But these cars don’t lease cheap.

Interesting…

I went to check out the Mazda CX 5 and was quoted $379/mth ($10 extra per month to get in gray) with $0 down at 12k/month. I’m really surprised that Honda is more than Mazda!!!

This is going to maybe sound silly, but knowing these prices are high, what do I even say to get them to start cutting it down?

Other than it’s too high for me, is there a specific thing that I can start “picking” at to get them to work with me?

Have you checked on Edmunds to get the RV, MF, and any incentives for your area? That way, you can at least do the math to figure out what kind of dealer discount you’d need to get the monthly payment to what you’re looking for.

I’d also ask for a more detailed breakdown of this quote, because it looks like your payment is $391 plus a good chunk of money DAS (first month, tax, etc.), even though it says $0 out of pocket.

Have you reached out to other dealerships for quotes as well? You’ll want to cast a pretty wide net.

Hondas and Mazdas just don’t tend to lease as well as other makes due to small dealer discounts and a usual lack of incentives.

Why too much for something without leather, doubt it’ll go down that much, the time to get one of these was when they were clearing out the 2018’s.

I’d widen your horizons, Highlander XLE comes to mind

I just went to Edmunds and found this info. The site had my location too, as it even suggested the dealer by me to contact about the deal.

Is it foolish to present these to a dealer?

No, ask for quotes first, when you show them something like that you could be leaving money on the table. If they are higher than that with their quote, then you can use that to get them lower. You need to get at least 3 or 4 quotes and report back

If you’re open to an Equinox, Ciocca is fantastic and likely not too far away (just a short drive on cop ridden 195). Lester Glenn also just relocated their Mazda dealership to a new location on 37 that’s way bigger so they might be interested in making a deal. Three of their other brands have sales managers that will give quotes over email so it’s worth a try

Following up on BoardWalkNJ’s post I have also heard a few good things about all American Mazda in Brick, which is probably a little closer to you since it’s further North. But if you want to lease a similar car with lower payments an equinox is not a bad idea. Not as refined as a CX-5 or CRV, but it’s all about how much you value the 100-150 bucks a month savings.

For this specific quote, it actually is a strong first offer. Price is near bottom of KBBs fair range and is 9% off MSRP. Not sure what they are doing with MF and other fees but probably not too much more room to get them down on sales price.

Thanks so much for the advice!

I appreciate the idea of the Equinox but I feel more comfortable with a Honda or Mazda. I AM looking to keep the car after the lease is up and buy it out.

I know that these brands, and one like Toyota, have a nice long life span. I’ve had a Mazda for 10 years and now this last Accord. They always did right by me. That’s the reason why I’m focusing on them.

So if you have any other recommendations on brands that you know will suit that preference I’m looking for, I’m all ears!

I will reach out to Lester Glen today. That’s a good idea!

Another good idea is to contact @Jrouleau426 for a RAV4. The programs seem very strong on those this month

I am trying to figure out what my sister should be paying for a 2019 CRV EX FWD in Nebraska- Where are you guys finding the residuals and money factors at on edmunds? I have been on the site the last hour looking for them and can’t find them anywhere- HELP!

Google Edmunds forums.

The site isn’t well laid out and finding the forums can be difficult

I suggest you search it on google. This is how I found the Accord one.

Thats obviously the first place i checked, no clear answers- Mainly links to this forum and honda dealers. I just want to find a clear cut residual/incentives map by zipcode…why is this so hard?

What you are looking for doesn’t exist for any make @karlskry

Was that to me, Boardwalk? Not sure who you’re talking to…lol

If so, I’m not looking for a perfect car, just one that has the most quality- if that makes sense.

Nope to @karlskry

Oh okay…
