It’s hard to beat Toyota for reliability, and the resale values are through the roof. We bought a 2006 Tacoma for our son 2 years ago with 175,000 miles on it for $13k (yeah, you read that right). We’re going to be selling it now and it’s still worth over $10k. They REALLY retain their value. We have a Highlander, a Tundra, and now two Tacomas (just got him the 2020). I’ve also converted my parents and brother, lol.
Limited is nice, but personally, I couldn’t justify the extra cost. Even still, they’re starting to come down in price around the country. Seeing more and more limiteds selling for a couple k under MSRP.
Have you driven the palisade and highlander in close succession? No point in trying to shop diligently for a palisade if the highlander will suffice. I was surprised by the highlander, other than all the tech being at least 2 generations behind.
Test drive the Highlander. I have 17 Highlander and engine makes a lot of noise( a roar). I’m hoping for you that 19 has better noise control. Thank God I’m only leasing and it’s going back in 2 months. I will consider 2020, but I will test drive that one. The only reason I took 17 without test drive…because consumer reports said it was a quiet ride! Sorry after my Buick enclave it was a step down! Just my opinion.
