Working on my first legit hack…what’s a fair discount off MSRP to expect pre-incentive/rebates on a leftover 2019 GMC Sierra Denali?
You’d have better luck searching on this forum for your answer and also searching on Edmunds.
I tried both. There is not a lot of recent info on either regarding this topic. That’s why I posted!
Not sure what/how you searched but there are hundreds of posts from this year in regards to Sierras, GMC and GM in general. 8-10% off is about the best you’ll do in general but in some areas/some vehicles you’ll be lucky to even get the supplier pricing without a code. What state are you in?
I’m in NY.
There aren’t a ton of GMC or specifically Sierra posts on these forums with the information I seek. Are GM discounts off MSRP generally the same across brands?

14 Sierra threads this year. Some specifically for Denali, several answering the question you asked :)
Yes, with Cadillac demos seeming to be the exception to the “rule”.
What kind of quotes are you getting?
I’m getting 6% off MSRP prior to incentives. I cannot get dealer to budge. MF and residual line up with Edmunds. If I could get it to 10% it would be a great deal with the $8150 in incentives currently available and $700 Costco card. Unfortunately, there isn’t much inventory around so they have some leverage.
Denalis usually lease pretty poorly due to high MF and meager dealer discounts. Have you considered other trims and looked at their numbers?
6% is sadly a pretty typical GM discount these days. Cast a wide net and keep working at it.
IF you can wait until December, in past years we have seen GM dealers get extra aggressive right before the end of the year.
It’s really the lack of a substantial discount that’s killing the deal. MF and residual aren’t terrible and there’s $8150 in incentives but the 6% discount off MSRP stinks. I guess I’ll wait for next month and see what happens with the 2020s once the 2019s are no longer leasable. I’ve previously leased a Sierra Denali in the November and done pretty well…thanks for the help.
Might be worth checking out Banks GMC in NH. It’s a drive but they have solid lease deals on pretty basic models. Last I saw a 61k Denali was 499/month + tax and fees I believe. Otherwise just shopping around, you may find a dealer ready to get rid of their last one. I’ve had good luck with Patrick GMC in Rochester too.
