2019 GLE 43 AMG Coupe

I’m trying to help my brother with this car. Any lease deals or info on it will be appreciated. Thank you.

Expect to pay. From my understanding, AMG’s almost never lease out well.

These cars are almost always better to buy. If he can wait, that would be the best advice, I think. No real compelling incentives out there at the moment. I imagine it should only get better as the new model year approaches.

roughly an $800-$900 car, x5m is gnna be a better deal imo, M cars lease better than amg cars, what monthly price range is he looking at?

I wanted a GLC43AMG Coupe, saw the deals available and gave up. Yes it’s a sexy car, but it makes no sense to lease unless you get like 25-30% off due to the RV/MF Mercedes uses.

He is being quoted 1000-1050… he would love it around 800-900

Even at 800 - 900 he should just buy it. Or get something else as others have mentioned.

I agree… He is dead set on this vehicle.

Not necessarily. Let’s say one finds a stripped GLE AMG Coupe. That’s $72k plus tax and license etc.

We’ll call it $75k for simplicity and it’s close enough for rock and rolll.

Let’s borrow that $75k at 3.11% for 60 months (yikes on 60 months of an AMG as warranty will be gone) you’re at $1,350 finance payment.

That’s a pretty big delta to say “just buy it” even if lease is $1k

I think the GLC 63s AMG Couple looks much better than GLE 43 AMG. Way out my price range so what do I know lol.

Yes, and also, the GLE interior is outdated. New GLE coming out in 2020.

if something breaks on these cars out of warranty thats a minimum 1k trip to the mb dealership, no thank you. I would rather spend 1k on payment than 1k on top of my payment.

My bad. There have been so many c43 threads on here lately my brain automatically entered a much lower msrp. I agree I would never own one of these cars out of warranty. Really just comes down to does 1k/month get me something better. 1k/month opens up a lot of options.

I’d prolly sniff around the Cayenne, or Velar for that monthly nut. But it ain’t my money.

The heart wants what it wants. Sometimes that’s cheap, and sometimes it’s pricey.

Gotta discern shopping for a car Vs shopping for a deal. They’re different.

at his current offer an x5m would be the best bang for buck,(0-60 at 3.9 seconds vs the 43 amgs 5.6 seconds) but if he’s dead set on this car the best you can do is work out a good selling price or discount from msrp, the 43s tend to be able to get more discount than their 63 counterparts so dont take the “these cars sell at msrp” bs on the 43 amgs.

I’m not looking to be argumentative, but 0 - 60 is simply not the only criterion people use to select a car. One cannot drive a spec sheet.

It could be the style or the brand or who knows it could be the feeling of the knobs on the vents that tickle someone’s fancy.

It sounds like buyer is dead set on the GLE43, if I’m not missing something. So whilst there may be quicker jaunts to 60, seems that isn’t necessarily this person’s number one priority.

I’m genuinely trying to be less inflammatory these days, fwiw.

Bro, you are sooooo wrong, it’s all about the 0-60 times. The illegal street racing events I go to for middle-aged white men with performance SUVs all laugh at the slower SUVs. /sarcasm

On a serious note, the SUV Coupes all lease horribly whether they’re Merc, BMW, Audi, etc plus the discount is minimal as they make far less of the coupe versions. One exception is the outgoing 2019 BMW X6, they’re good value now.

@anon92897398 is right about a lot of the people looking for a specific model and not the best bang for their buck in this segment. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve said to people looking for C43 deals that they could get an M3 for similar money but most don’t care.

I’ll see you at the meter jumping on the 405 at Jamboree tonight! Be there or be square! 10:00 PM on the dot.

Oh wait, the JDM vs Teutonic league event was canceled due to all the dads with bone stock V6 vehicles being in bed since their kids will be up at 6:30 and need driven to pre-school regardless.

Next time!

0-60 was just one the performance markers, we could talk about horsepower, torque, 40 to 70 pulls, lateral agility through traffic all of which the M is better at, but again that was just me pointing out that a better car was out there for similar terms, not to mention the ridiculous sloping line of the gle coupe that makes it almost impossible for any taller person to sit in the back, that may be something of note but at the end of the day he’s gonna pick what he wants all we can do here is provide info.

As far as 0-60 goes its about much more than stop to stop light drag racing, for me a 0-60 time shows how capable a vehicle is on city streets, nobody cares if you have 700 hp but cant put it down because you have small tires or because your car weights 6000 pounds and who honestly is ever gonna get over 90 on a day to day basis, simply put the 0-60 on the gle 43 is as slow or equal to a v6 altima/camry in terms of putting down its power, which says a lot for wanting a $1k monthly figure if you are as fast as say a v6 econobox, seems like a waste of money for such little power, those are just my 2 cents and that’s why I used 0-60 because its a good indicator for usable acceleration.

What kind of a discount do you think I can get off MSRP on the GLE Coupe this month. Is 10 percent unrealistic? Should I be trying for more?
