11% is a nice discount. Why is $2000 of incentives not taxed? Where in NY is tax flat 8% (just curious)? Whats that down payment of $1074 about?
Hi, the dealer mentioned that those specific incentives are not taxed because they are direct from the manufacturer. Several counties in Western NY have tax rates of 8.0% (4% NYS and 4% county tax).

Im not sure that’s accurate about the taxes on the rebates, but either way, its not a bad offer. Its an effective payment of like $250 on an almost $30k car…
Get rid of the down payment. No reason to do one.
I’m guessing that the $2k is dealer cash. 11% discount and $2k dealer cash is a stellar deal.
Due to low incentives on this particular model I would look at other Equinox trims and GMC Terrain too just to make sure you can’t get a little more for your money.
