2019 Cadillac CTS-V

Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone in advance for reading this post. I’m helping a friend who is considering a 2019 CTS-V. I sent several emails on his behalf to dealers within 500 miles, and finally got solid numbers from one of them. Please let me know what you think:

  • MSRP = 105,640

  • discount = 6,509 (includes “GM Supplier discount”, which he apparently won’t qualify for)

  • selling price = 99,130

  • 48 months / 10k miles per year

  • residual = 49% (=51,764)

  • money factor = 0.53 → 0.00022?

  • zip code = 89178 (for registration purposes)

  • 1,100/mo (including tax) with $3k DAS

I transposed the above information from this picture (maybe a bit redundant, but oh well):

I was also given the invoice for this vehicle, but not sure if I can post it without getting in some trouble… The invoice amount shown is 100,990, and 100,120 if you subtract holdback.

Reason he won’t qualify for the “GM Supplier discount” is that our company is not affiliated, per this website: https://www.gmsupplierdiscount.com/about-the-discount/. Not sure why the dealer would include it, but I suppose we could negotiate to receive the same selling price even without it. It’s only 1,800 below invoice after all.

Anyway, would appreciate some insight into these numbers! I tried searching the forums, but haven’t seen many CTS-V related posts in quite some time. If it doesn’t work out on this vehicle, my friend is going to shop for a slightly used model that should net him a lower monthly payment.

Thanks again!

Also, here is my calculator link: leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Cadillac&miles=10000&msd=0&msrp=105640&sales_price=99130&months=48&mf=0.00022&dp=1300&dealer_fee=528&acq_fee=995&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=49&reg_fee=0&sales_tax=8.25&demo_mileage=0&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true

I’m sure that’s slightly incorrect, but the payment shown is very close to what I was given. I did 1,300 cash down in the calculator to get it close to 3k DAS… hope that part is correct. But either way, 8.3 years for CTS-V… Sounds good-ish to me?

Not enough discount and 48 mo/cash down are both a no go

You need to look on other forums but my guess is these things are routinely massively discounted. Straight supplier pricing on a $100k CTS is a total joke.

Shoot for more of a discount, 39 months maybe a sweet spot for Cadillac.

Look for at least $10k off of MSRP. Should end up under $1000 mo, especially at 10k per year

What state is he in. I’ve seen big discounts before but not sure if they apply for leases. 48 month is a definite no go.

@joeblogs, thank you… thought 48 months was pushing it, but using the calculator with Edmunds forums MF and residual numbers for 24, 36, 39, and 48, it appears that 48 will give the lowest payment. Gonna have to rethink this.

@chrishs2000, of the several dealers that I emailed within 500 miles, no one was willing to come anywhere near $10k off MSRP… I told them that’s what I was shooting for, and that I’d come sign if they could match.

@senwia, see my reply to Joe above. Calculator on this site is giving me lower payments at 48 months. 39 is only slightly higher, but my friend is really shopping a payment here.

@Mr645, see my reply to Chris above. $10k off MSRP would be great, but I’m not sure how to get dealers to dig that deep, especially when I’m working over email.

@Yinzer, we’re in Nevada. I contacted dealers in SoCal and Arizona as well, since supply here is limited to a single model, lol. Cadillac is offering zero percent financing for 72 months right now, but still gonna have way higher payments than any lease program. Just need to keep looking I suppose. May end up going the used car route and finding one under $70k.

I think my buy out is in the 80s for my 18 104k msrp he can buy it lol. I’m on the east coast so not sure what GM Financial allows.

Lol, not sure about that! I found him a 2016 CPO model in CA listed for $62k. Only has 14k miles. But it’s silver and missing some options that he wants (picky picky, I know).

If he goes brand new and leases, he wants the payment as close to 1000 as possible, but if it’s used, he prefers a payment under 900. Still open to options here.

Yeah if he buys used it’s a must to have Recaro and Carbon Fiber package

haha yep, that’s exactly what he’s looking for! And must be either white, bronze, or black.

Discount definitely should be more and I’d stay away from the 48 months.

When I got mine in Oct 18 they were offering about 11-1200 36/10. This was before I told them about GMS and my incentives.

Thanks for the advice. Will keep working and see what I come up with.

1100 isn’t bad, if it was zero DAS and 39 months. Problem is, my friend is leaning towards used models now. Will update everyone once a decision has been made.

Yeah just plates and fees due. Make sure used ones have a clean carfax and new tires.

Update for everyone: my friend changed his mind and now wants an F-250 Platinum. Likely going to buy a used model, 2017+. Needs it to pull his RZR, but would still like a CTS-V in the future. Thanks for the initial help, y’all! Really appreciate what this forum does.
