2019 BMW i3 Lease Question

I am currently negotiating for a new BMW i3. Here is where I am at with the dealership.

I have a few concerns:

  • I am eligible for a 3000 loyalty credit, 1000 OL code, and the 7500 fed credit. Why is it only displaying $10500 in Mnfg rebate and not $11500?

  • Currently the dealership is giving me a 9.5% reduction in MSRP, do you think I should be more aggressive? Do you think I can get it down a few percent?

  • Would it be more advantageous to take a 30 month lease (61% residual) vs the 36 month (58% residual)?

Please let me know what you think about this deal and how to better hack it.

Edit: Here is the calculator link

I’d push for more off MSRP. I was given a 11.6% discount right off the bat on my i3 last month. Did you give them your OL code to validate? Maybe they’re not including that in the discount?

OL code is included in the sales price and not listed as a separate incentive.

Plug both 30 and 36 deals into the calculator and see which comes out cheaper.

30 months might be cheaper. What’s the mileage allowance?

10k per year

Right but you also have to pay registration for 6 months (easily $350-400 in SoCal), what’s the strategy here?

try 12% off MSRP, not to hard to get it.

go for 30/10k, waive acq fee by markup MF

Would be much better:>

You need to to see a difference of ~$60/month by going 30 vs 36 assuming a ~$350 registration renewal in Year 3. Am I missing something?

Technically, you are only “wasting” half of the registration, not the full year.

True, so roughly $30/month assuming a $350 registration renewal.

Why a 30 when a 24 is even cheaper?

need minimum 30mo to qualify for CVRP in CA

How much for 24 months?

Good info. You Kalifornians and your massive rebates!!!

Can someone provide RV for 24/10 on the i3 rex Sport

same as everywhere else - .00128 MF and 64% residual I believe

6% higher RV than 36 months, so 64%.

Thank you Jon

What’s the consensus? Is 30/10k better than 36/10k in socal?

I re-negotiated and this is the new calculator:

MSRP: $50945
Selling Price: $44832 (12% discount - the OL code is factored into the selling price)
Taxed Incentives : $10500 (3k loyalty, 7500k fed tax credit)
Max MSD

Outside of the calculator is:
~$550 cash back by using the BMW credit card for drive off
$3500 of California rebates ($2500 CVRP, $1000 SCE)
