2019 BMW i3 120 Ah with Range Extender

Started looking at the i3 because of getting HOV privileges. Test drove one and I was more impressed than expected. I am in Arizona so I know the leases suck here. How much better could I do than this deal? They didn’t provide all numbers but here is what I have.
$0 down $665 mth with 12k miles. MSRP 54,795 after everything 42,584. $10k USAA savings and 2895 Dealer discount. No where close to where I want to be, but would like to hear you you guys think it’s even worth trying to bargain with this dealer.

Could possible buy one in Cali, just would rather not make that trip. HOWEVER if anyone knows a good dealer in Southern California please let me know. Thanks everyone!

That’s over $23k for crying out loud! If that’s the best you can do and really want it then buy it used from Ca.

Yeah that’s a pretty outrageous price. Just have a search on here to see what others are paying, but you’re really going to have to go with a CA dealer probably.

@Heater you will not get HOV access in AZ if the i3 has the range extender. It has to be a full electric to get the cloud plate/reduced registration. Someone I work with made this mistake on an i3 w range extender and has a regular plate and paid $600 to register it for the year. My Leaf was $45 for 5 years of registration.

If you are coming from a grandfathered HOV plate, you are able to transfer to a PHEV, but from what I understand that is very uncommon.

Thanks for the heads up. I had not done research to see if the range extender was a larger battery or gas engine. Clearly that’s the case. Not sure the i3 is going to be an option after all. The dealerships in this area are absolutely terrible.

If you are interested in a Leaf, Midway Nissan in Central Phx has a ton of 2018 inventory still. I just got a good lease deal on a 2018 SV. Happy to intro you to my sales guy who was familiar w leasehackr. They weren’t my favorite dealership but if you know what you’re doing, they are fine.
