2019 BMW 540i xDrive lease. IS THIS A GOOD DEAL?

So I am in talks about leasing a previous loaner 540i xDrive with 4,000 miles on it… black on black. MSRP is $63,000 and they are offering it at $57,000 selling price. Dealer quoted me $620 per month with 12k miles/year for 36 months and only taxes and fees DAS which would be $4700. Money factor is .0017 or about 4%. I feel like I’m not getting a good deal but can anyone weigh in on this? Thanks!

Man discount should be above 16%. Mf is marked up.

You are being given 9% discount with a marked up MF on a 2019 loaner. Typical advice on here is discount on a loaner should be at least 15% with base MF.

Not exactly the same but I just got into my 2019 530i xDrive retired loaner 64K MSRP last month for $347 a month with $2,500 total due at signing 24/10K. I know the 540i is different but they’re in the same class. Just another data point for you to consider.

You are barely getting a 10% discount, going by that sale price. For a previous year loaner, this is a terrible discount. I also concur that MF is marked up.

What incentives do you qualify for? If you don’t know ask on the Edmunds forum. Loyalty is $2k and conquest is $1k. I believe BMW lease cash is $3250 this month.

Upfront taxes seem high. Why not spread it over the term of the lease?

I would suggest you look at dealerships in NJ with loaners. IMO, you should aim for at least 18% off MSRP on a 2019 loaner. It is going to take some work to come close to this, but if you are prepared to put in the work, it is doable.

I qualify for loyalty as I just got rid of a BMW two days ago. Dealer is saying he’s giving me a discount of 17% with $6605 and $4250 rebate. All seems to be false to me. Also I’m gonna add that the car has been sitting for sale for about five months, and the dealership is in Connecticut, I am a New York resident. Thanks to all!

Go for the kill and offer 20% off at buy rate and you’ll sign immediately!

I second this @joeblogs

Are you saying 20% off of MSRP? This would bring the sale price down to 50,400. How can I plug that into the payment calc and figure out my monthly? Sorry for so many questions, I’m new to leasing and need a little help. Thanks again!

that is what he is saying. Deals like that do get posted on here and they are possible, you can go to a broker and get a deal at the 16-19% off range just by paying a couple hundred bucks broker fee. However the fact that this dealer is currently offering you 9.xx% and you are going to more than double it, theres a chance you’ll get laughed out of their inbox. But hey, never know if you dont ask lol. depending on your timeline, you could reasonably search for a deal like this. 20% off is not guaranteed but you can 100% find a better deal than 9% off.

Editing this in: Not trying to speak for you @joeblogs lol just saw the post and replied on impulse

Honestly this dealer probably doesn’t want to sell this car for any kind of actual deal, you could probably get a 2020 for 9 or 10% off. I’d keep shopping but it never hurts to ask, 20% off before incentives is very realistic on a 2019 loaner sedan.

Try this. You might have to adjust the RV and fees.
That’s with 20% MSRP and base MF:

This is what I would be paying if the guy was giving me the deal he says he is

Did you end up providing a counter offer or move onto another dealership?

I told the salesman that if he would give me the 17% he said he was, combined with the nearly $8500 in incentives that BMW is giving in my area, I would be in the 400s per month which sounded good to me. He said he could only drop the price by 1 dollar per month, which to me just seem spiteful so I walked.

I am only seeing $3250 in lease cash and $1000 in loyalty (totaling $4250) this month in my area. What other rebates/incentives do you qualify for? (just curious)

Was told $3250 lease cash, $1250 loyalty, and an additional $4250 for the 5 series specifically.

Did you confirm this on Edmunds? Reviewing BMW’s Lease offers does not show that additional rebate.

there is a 4250 incentive on the m550 i can see, 3500 for the 540 (in my zip)

Someone I know leased a 2019 540i retired loaner with 2xxx miles for something around 500/month for 24/10k and 0 DAS for a 64k MSRP car.

You should aim for 15%+ pre-incentive discount for a 2019 retired loaner.

OP was aiming for 17% off pre-incentives but dealer won’t budge. Their best bet is to move on and find a dealership willing to deal.
