2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia TI AWD

I am getting piece meal numbers, and the sales person unceremoniously changed the terms to a 24 month lease (when I asked for 36.)

Here’s what they are proposing:

  • MSRP $52,195

  • Destination Charge $1,295

*Incentive off MSRP -$3,000

*OTHER discount: -$6,841 (assume this is the VIP discount for March?)

*My Price: $43,649

*My Down payment: $4,000

*Interest rate: .14

*24 months/10,000 miles

*NJ Sales Tax of 6.625%

*$349 per month

*$1,839 for tax and tags (not broken down, not included in the lease payment either. Not clear how they are reaching this number, and have asked numerous times.)

Bottom line, they want $6,180 total out of pocket (to include $4,000 down)! This is NOT happening, no way, no how.

My state also has luxury tax for cars over 45K, but I don’t have a bright line on if that is based on MSRP, total lease payments, difference between residual and MSRP, etc. so I am fastidiously reading now.

Can someone assist me with breaking this down? I admit that I am not a leaser, thus this is going to require a lot of speed learning on my part, and generous sharing of experience on yours. Thank you, and I really appreciate your help.

I wouldn’t do any more than 24 months on this car otherwise u will have that expensive 30 month scheduled service. Also no to the down payment.

This is a :poop:deal. That $4000 up front is like another $175 a month, plus your additional drive offs. Reach out to Justin I think he’s at Alfa Romeo Cleveland, he’s an active dealer on here and seems to be upfront clear with solid deals. Jsutton_aepeach@yahoo.com

Looking at manual now. Looks like they have mileage bands as triggers for services (predominantly), and I work under 3 miles from my job under a proposed 10k mile lease. What happens at 30 months that I am missing?

Agreed its poo, even without having a leasing background.

I’d be personally be ok with a 36 month lease. I would just skip the 30 month service, and just do oil changes every year or 10k miles. It’s a lease, so who gives a shit about service. MB wanted $800 to do the 20,000 mile service on my C300. I just got the oil changed at a local shop. Car goes back soon, but it could use another oil change. Probably not going to get it done though as I won’t put that many more miles on it and I got the 20,000 mile service a bit late.

While it doesn’t need to be done at a mb dealer if their records shows it’s wasn’t done there you can bet your ass they are going to ask for a receipt to prove it was done somewhere and if not charge you more than accordingly.

Is this true? I don’t think you have to show proof at lease turn in that you did the suggested service to the vehicle? Ive never heard of that.
