In the market for a mid size luxury SUV, test drove all but the Cadillac and QX50 so far. Anyways the RDX, I personally think is the best interior and exterior package available in the price segment I have finalized. That said, the deals are difficult to get by. Can the experts here please help, the car will be MO registered. 36 months, 10000 miles, nothing out of the door, all included.
The first offers started just shy of $700, there are two dealerships, I got them both going back and forth, the out of state didn’t even reply. Anyways now I am finally down to $550/month, phew. With the 1% rule and I agree might not apply to the RDX, but on a roughly $44-45 K car, I am paying atleast $100 more. The closest to this I have is the Audi Q3 PP at $583/month, I didn’t like the seats for that, a little uncomfortable for me.
So is the RDX a good deal at $550/month, if not what is a realistic price in this part of the country.
That’s way too much money for either the RDX or the Q3. The RDX competes with the Q5, Q3 is sub company luxury crossover.
It may be best just to try to hold it if feasible, Acura is riding a wave of good attention for the RDX, I just don’t think it’s worth the premium it’s ending up being. Personal opinion though. Deals will come eventually, it’s a very crowded segment.
First this is a brand new car that just came out a little while ago and it is getting positive reviews. Anytime that happens the dealers figure the car is the hottest thing since sliced bread and want to charge everyone full MSRP. In addition the manufacturer is probably not offering great terms for the same reason.
Over on Acura.com they have the non-tech version listed at $409 a month with $2,999 due at signing at 36 months. That suggests to me that right now it is going to be hard to get too much lower than what you are being quoted. Maybe here in Southern California where there are probably 15-20 Acura dealers you could swing something better but if you are looking at only two in state dealers that isn’t going to happen.
By november you should be able to get a Mdx advance at that price which has about a 55k msrp. Unless you really want the RDX, wait it out till atleast the 2nd production year.
Waiting is not an option, my old car is giving problems and winter is coming.
Personally I liked the RDX a lot, I like the new interior and options and the space, nothing save the Discovery sport and QX50 had the space, but the Discovery is more expensive and looks a little dated, the QX50 I like but that engine was not a whole lot of fun, also I don’t know what else is available in sub $500 range here in MO in this segment. At the same time human tendency of not paying more, my biggest worry is I will sign those papers and there will be like sub $500 deals, that will be bad.
The only other which I liked was the Volvo XC60 but I don’t think they lease for sub $500. I haven’t seen the Cadillac XT5, don’t know if thats in that price range.
If you can’t wait and just have it now, then you’re going to pay a premium. Do you absolutely have to have a luxury crossover? If the price is an issue, you at be looking at too much car.
The new RDX is nice, but not $550/mo nice. Although $550/mo is pretty good for the 19 RDX. I think it competes more with the QX50 and NX300, but is faster than both.
So I did cave a little and went and test drove the VW Atlas, I liked the car, although nothing like the RDX in interiors but still I did like them. Waiting on pricing on this, just test drove today. Edmunds review on reliability had me a little nervous.
I have also heard here about the CX9, will go try that tomorrow.
No, I decided to go luxury because never really had a luxury car and kinda wanted to own one, I thought $500 was a decent budget, but boy, money doesn’t buy what it used to, no more.
Money still gets you good things. It’s a matter of doing enough research and finding the right deal.
Unfortunately, more and more people are over buying their cars, leading dealers, lenders, and manufacturers to push car prices and loan lengths higher and further. It’s a vicious cycle and we end up with vehicles costing more than they are actually worth. It’s our moral responsibility to negotiate lower prices and adjust the market to where it should be.
Wait atleast till December. Right niw the RDX has a $1000 loyalty / conquest (stupid conquest though). Things might get better next month. Little better than your 550 right now.
Have you looked in to the MDX maybe ? Or is that too big ?
Most probably… yes. I think we helped someone here from your state a few months back. Search the forums and you will find his thread. Im sure ur $550 deal isnt 0 drive off and they are requiring cash due. Best advice is to take ur time and do the research here and Edmunds. Good luck.
I currently have an 2018 MDX SH-AWD with technology package (for my wife) MSRP $52.5K for $530/month 36/12K with only first month and DMV fees (~$300) due in Maryland (great state who taxes full selling price), deal from Feb 2018. I think now the leftover can be leased for much less.
