Someone needed to start this thread about the new 2019 Audi Q3! Rumor has it that it’s supposed to drop sometime this summer, although 2020 cars roll out too which leaves very little room for 2019 cars being introduced…
I know that Audi USA has released the information page on their website too, so we’re getting closer.
Anyone have any updates as to when the Q3 will be released and what is worth the wait? Thanks!
It’s a sub-compact luxury hatchback that thinks it’s a crossover.
Preliminary reviews were positive. Q3 is really nothing to cry home to mom about. There are a lot of cars in this segment and I don’t think it necessarily stands out.
An SQ3 would be a ringer, though.
Nearly bought a Q3 RS in the UK, very cheap around 2 years old. Q3 don’t lease well and often better value deals on the Q5, especially when the Summer of Audi event is running like last year.
This will sell well. (so won’t lease well at all, see also: Volvo XC40)
The competition is behind - The X1 needs a redesign by now, the GLA (such as it is) is also due a replacement and Merc are dragging their heels on the GLB. The E-Pace is a good alternative but poor build quality and super heavy.
I kinda think the real competition for this is a CX5 Turbo in Signature trim. It’d be interesting to see a comparison when some of the journo’s get their hands on it. But this will be a sensible choice for people searching for a ‘luxury’ subcompact SUV - the hottest market right now.
CX-5 is a larger than the Q3. Closest competitor is the CX-3.
This is the one already out in UK and EU, right? Nothing to write home about. Except the grille it looks like every other raised hatchback out there.

Yeah you’re right, but pricing wise…this’ll start around $37k and go out to $49-ish I reckon for top trims and a CX5 Turbo signature is at $ $37,885 before options and bits so it might make some people think a bit more space and speed is worth it over the 4 rings? maaaaybe?
What was going on with Audi selling the Q2 over here? did they scrap that plan?
