2018 Volkswagen Passat GT

In my opinion? Honda Accord.

Sales numbers-wise? Toyota Camry.

Both Accord and Camry are leading the pack by a pretty wide margin. Nothing really comes close.

Strip our fleet sales to rental agencies and it’s a different story. Camry usually hangs around 20% fleet.

Definitely true for Camry, bringing it more in-line with Accord. Either way, the Accord’s sales are very impressive considering that Honda does not sell (direct) to fleets or rental agencies. if there are Honda vehicles in fleets, those vehicles were not purchased at fleet pricing.

It’s one of the ways Honda manages to keep their residuals up.

3 series loaners are very hackable right now, nice car if you can get it under $300. Unicorn under $250, and only 24mos if you find the right deal. Love mine, blows away any VW or Camry, maybe not an Accord, does have AWD though and free oil changes.

Lets start at the top. The deal will depend upon where you live. I live on Long Island, I am looking to lease a 2018 passat GT. The deal I am currently offered is 3 year lease with 15k per year. My total out of pocket will be 500 and my month payment is $389 per month. I don’t have mf or any of those numbers as if now but is this a good deal?

No! Awful deal. Should be 300 a month ideally.

Here in LI the lowest price I was able to get on a purchase was 25000. Its crazy the lease deals are not here like they once were. I was originally quoted like 445 per month. I thought they were crazy but after visiting the 3 dealers that had the car 389 was the best I was able to get.

MSRP for the GT is around 30k, so a 400 a month effective payment isn’t TERRIBLE considering the horrible RV and MF you get from VW.

Unfortunately, those two factors are going to prevent you from getting a decent deal. There is some good news… in NY you only pay tax on the monthly lease portion and document fees are about 80 dollars, so there isn’t a lot that’s inflating the price.

You’re looking for a 15k mile a year lease. If you can squeeze an extra 500 dollars out of the selling price (as in, no money down or drive offs) then I think that’s pretty competitive.

Long Island is a tough market to hammer out a decent deal, unfortunately. Ask me how I know. Cast your net beyond LI.

I forgot to add that the dealer is getting me out of my current lease making 3 payments at 369 and paying the disposal fee too. So that’s approx another 1500. So to reviews I’m getting the 2018 passat gt putting down total of $500 rest is rolled into payments. 36 months with 15k per year and they are paying off my current lease saving me approximately $1500. And my payment is 389 per month.
