Well…I realize that now. I was just apprehensive about the 2018, with all of its issues. I joined the club, and heard lot of bad things about the first year…and everyone suggested getting the 2019.
Ironically, the were also offering me a new 2018 47k Lexus ES350 for $435/mo 39/15k, 0 down…that was an amazing offer, and a superb car. I feel the Stinger is a much more fun drive though…so I am not really regretting not taking the Lexus.
Stinger and ES350 are two pretty different cars. Stinger is easily a far better driving car.
Honestly, I think the complaints about first year issues are far overblown. I didn’t personally meet anyone that had those problems and I didn’t have any of those issues with mine.
I think the evidence was anecdotal… the fact that it’s a Kia combined with being a brand new car that’s way out of their usual wheelhouse, I think people blew the issues way out of proportion.
Also, warranty.
Possibly. After hearing these bad service experiences, paint chipping, speaker fade, trunk rattle (some magazine said about this), I was really freightened…so I said better wait a year. Was about to sign the papers, I took the ES350 out on a long solo drive, but I just felt it was too boring…and somewhat Camry V6 like. I am not liking the 2019 ES350 at all…looks like an Avalon, but with an uglier style (interior is solid though).
I definitely agree the Stinger drives and looks 10000 times better…but I hope they already ruled out the bugs.
When better rebates come, will gladly get one…I think it is an awesome ride.
Why did you sell your Stinger?
With all due respect, you had your Stinger for the whole month or two? 
We have two Kias in the family, and while the warranty is nice, dealing with Kia service is not. 5 years in, they are still working out the kinks in both our cars, including minor issues like engine fires.
Long enough to put 16k miles on the clock.

Why did you get rid of it?
I wanted a financial break from constantly having a monthly payment. Kia was offering to buy back the car completely and refund me 100% of my money because of the paint chipping issue. They accepted only the sunset yellows back for the paint issue.
I felt as if God was giving me a way out and the chance to better my financials so I took it.
It was a hard decision to make because I loved driving it.
16k free miles I would have done the same.
