2018 Silverado 100 series

Hey guys would like some advice on a lease offer I got on a new Silverado 1500 year 100 series. Columbus, OH 43026 with Franklin county taxes of 7.5%. The deal to me seems really bad even with me putting 3k down and basically covering the negative equity. Would like some input on what I should negotiate too.

Forgot to put it’s 10k miles a year on this lease.

Need to negotiate the sales price down wayyyyy lower. That’s less then 10% off, I bet you could double that discount before incentives. That would be where I would start.

What’s a good price I should shoot for do you think?

Thanks

20% off MSRP plus incentives is not a bad place to start …

How would I negotiate to that? Seems like a lot off.

negative equity is $4300 not $3k

how many dealers have you talked to? This must be the most expensive Silverado you can buy too, $61k. If you want to save some $$$ you could get a descent LT for about $15k less, just saying.

I can cover the negative equity if I need too and just a couple dealers so far. They don’t seem to be coming off the sale price that much.

I’d say 20% is completely unrealistic, they just don’t have that much markup, 10% would be doing pretty good. You don’t need to cover the negitive equity unless you want to, you’re basically just making payments upfront which is frowned upon here(total car bye bye :moneybag::moneybag:). What exactly are you trying to accomplish payment wise?

Trying to get to around 500 a month, want either the Silverado 100 series or Sierra Denali. I can put money down if I need too.

Why are you doing 39 months? It’s rarely the best term

That’s what they set it at, really the first time negotiating a lease deal for me.

You should step back and read how to negotiate before going any further. Use the search function to find topics about it. Otherwise, you’ll get hosed.

Would me hiring a broker be a better option? I don’t usually have a lot of free time to negotiate since that takes a while.

It would make your life a lot easier. Get in touch with @Benedetto. He has a lot of experience with the Midwest

Yeah putting money down to get to a payment isn’t really wise on a lease, as I stated before, total the car lose the money. Plus you’re not really saving much on interest

Go look at the Sierra Denali they lease better. The first dealer I went to only had one parked in the showroom so they wouldn’t budge on price at all so I found a dealer that had 14 and they were much more willing to negotiate. If you go for one without the ultimate package 500/month should definitely be possible

This seems like a good deal just need to check tomorrow if all the discounts will apply.

That’s exactly the same truck I got, I leased it a few months ago so I’m sure all the discounts are different but out of the 9-10k of discounts they advertised I think only 4-5 was available on lease. I got the ultimate because I wanted the bigger engine and those were the only ones with it but aside from the engine the only other things were power running boards and 22" wheels, I love the looks of it but honestly 10k is a bit much for what you get.
