2018 Q50 2.0T PURE? Good or Great

Hi Everyone,

I have been shopping for a Q50 and this is what I have been quoted by a Dealer (down south).
$339 (inclusive of taxes) per month - 39 month 12K/YR lease.

I have a Honda Accord Sport 2016 (lease till April 2019) that I will be trading in. The dealer will be buying this car with 35000 miles (max 36000) [with 9 months remaining we will definitely be going over the max…]

First month will also be covered by the Dealer. I do not have to pay anything out of pocket (zero down), just sign and leave the lot with the new car…

What do you think about this deal?

I do not have the residual or MF for you guys. The only thing i can quote you is the Sales Price which is 26,694.

Can’t really figure out if it’s a good deal or not without knowing your Accord’s payoff amount and what the dealership is giving you for trade in value.

I am not getting anything for Trade In Value.

No. That’s more than my 2015 3.7 Premium with Nav (which is the equivalent to a 3.0t Essential with Nav today). Granted, that was three years ago when residuals were better, but still.

The 3.0t leases better than the 2.0t, so you need to look at that. The residuals have gotten really bad, but the discounts are still heavy. You should be aiming for mid-$300s a month for a 3.0t with Nav. Dealers will routinely discount the car by $10-$15k. I belive the 2.0t residuals are quite bit worse than the 3.0t. Combined with the bigger discounts on the 3.0t, it’s just cheaper to get a 3.0t.

I’m not going to get another Q50, they are such a bore, but did shop around just last week - Q50 Hybrid, which has a $52,000 sticker, got down to around $0 down, $0 drive off and I think it was $420ish with tax (9.5%). I was quoted the same for a 3.0t with a few option packages that stickered around $48k. The discounts are much heavier on the Hybrid, so the leases are better. If you can afford it, and can find a dealer that has it in stock (most don’t), the hybrid is the sweet spot in Q50 leases right now. Off the bat dealers take around $12k off before you negotiate a thing.

Thanks for the detailed response.
I have not been able to find any great deals in Florida for a luxury line.
This was the only one that came close to being “reasonable”…
I will shop around for better deals out there (fingers crossed)

Yes, being in Florida (I’m in LA) makes it more difficult. That said, it shouldn’t change the fact that the 3.0t goes for around the same as the 2.0t, so scrap the 2.0t search and focus on the 3.0t. And trust me, 208hp to power this heavy of a car is not pretty. The engine is great in a CLA250, but this isn’t a CLA250.

CLA 250 is my first choice - couldn’t find anything less than $420 here.
I will continue the hunt. Thanks!
