Have a deal on the table for a used inventory 2018 MB GLC43 MSRP: 66k Sale price: 58k.
According to the dealer, this vehicle was sold by them. Customer leased it and turned it back to Mercedes Financial and they bought it back from an auction. He says that they will not re-lease the vehicle, only for sale. I think odometer is roughly 900 mi. What do you guys think about this? Any thing I should look out for? (make sure it is cpo, has warranty, etc)
Also, that is 12% off MSRP which I think should be lower than that. Any suggestions or feedback?
Another question is that for new 2018 year models (E300 for example), is it really that hard to get 15%-18% off MSRP at this point of time? Dealer seemed to make it very difficult and that he would expect about 13% off MSRP to be pushing it. Would like to hear some insights on this. Thanks !!
Thanks for the reply. Seattle area definitely has limited # of dealers and it is harder to negotiate.
For previous model year (2018) new vehicles, what should be a reasonable goal % off MSRP at this point of time? Would it be better to wait until Feb to get better discounts for a lease? I wonder if 20% off MSRP would be achievable if I waited a little longer.
20% off will be tough on the GLC43. They sell like hotcakes. Also, if you’re in Seattle, I suggest you contact the Portland MB dealers rather than the Seattle ones. They’re much more willing to negotiate.
I would do my due diligence extremely thoroughly on the vehicle if I were you. Have you checked the carfax to see if it was at the dealer many times? Very few people get a new leased vehicle and then get rid of it so soon as it’s a huge loss to take. They might have filed for bankruptcy and handed the vehicle back but it’s unlikely.
Other option for me is to go negotiate for a executive demo 2018 E300 with 111 mi which was on special for 656 DAS, 656/mo without tax 36/7.5k – MSRP 69k dealer offering 10k off I still think there is wiggle room, this one is in Portland. I think me trying to find one with the Driver assistance package makes it tough.
