Nice what state ???

Good deal especially given that you didn’t have too much time.

Lease was in Delaware (Wilmington). Dealer is Brandywine Jeep on Kirkwood Highway.

just got out of a discovery sport HSE. let me know how this compares. looking for a replacement now

just don’t keep that car 1 day over the warranty period, built quality on that car is terrible. My friend’s grand cherokee is pretty much melting in the FL sun, all trim is coming off etc. and that’s besides all the mechanical stuff.

6 cyl or hemi? The 6 cyl for the GC’s are waaaay underpowered, IMO. It’s just too heavy of a vehicle for the engine.

I’ve had a 2012 GC since new and it’s still running strong, no problems at all… but it’s a hemi, not the 6. It’s the only vehicle I’ve ever kept more than 3 years!

my friend has the SRT, i can’t express my disappointment in the quality enough. Absolute garbage. The “fabric” on the dash looks like a wrinkled bed sheet, glue doesn’t hold it in place anymore, the “carbon fiber” trim is coming off everywhere and continues to do so even after replacement. It’s always broken, they updated the transmission software now it drives like crap and they can’t undo the update, mechanically lots of problems too. Very expensive car if you don’t have warranty. On the bright side, it’s fast :sunglasses:

I had an HSE Lux. I liked the disco, but had tons of problems with the infotainment system - was in the shop 8 times for that alone, and they never got it fixed. Nav would say weird stuff, it would forget I had XM radio, the system would randomly reboot, the volume on the stereo would become unadjustable, etc. Then in the last month I had it, the transmission starting acting up, and the drivers seat wouldn’t cool.

The GC is more truck like. Ride is good - better than the LR. Handling is not as good as the LR. Visibility is not as good as the LR, but it’s not bad. Center display is better than the LR and responds WAY faster than the LR. I think the LR looks better, but the GC is still a decent looking car. Bigger cargo area in the GC. GC is not a turbo, so no turbo lag like the LR. I never liked the power delivery on the LR - very uneven.

In the end, I generally liked the LR. It’s just crappy in terms of reliability. I like the LR brand, and drove a Velar as I was considering it. But it has way more tech than the Disco, and when I test drove the Velar, the nav system wouldn’t accept a destination change. Dealer said “well, that’s embarrassing.” I just can’t trust that new LRs are going to be worry-free.

did he get you numbers on the velar?
