While I have bought many cars successfully this was my first lease deal. I tried to match the deal Lease Hackr has on its site for an Infiniti Q50 3.0T. I’m not sure I got that close but I’d like to hear how I could have done better. I have uploaded pics of the sticker and the lease agreement. I know I did not get the MF this site was shooting for but the dealer would not budge on it. I felt like coming down 17-18% from the sticker was the win but maybe I should have pushed harder. If you can find the weak spots in the deal and let me know I’d appreciate the lessons learned for next time.
PS. - I did manage to get the justification for Infiniti’s 39 month lease vs 36 months everywhere else. They want you to pay the registration for the year you return the car - so they get 9 months registration already paid. At California DMV rates that’s not small money.
Doesn’t seem like a good deal. People have gotten Red Sports for that price. I’m guessing you didn’t have VPP? Also, I don’t think the maintenance package is worth $1500+.
MX on a 39 month lease is oil changes, tire rotations; air filters also but they can replaced by the owner. Unless there is more to it, this may be a waste of money. Also, it is part of the cap cost so you are paying interest on it over 39 months. Big no-no.
There is a dealer from Arizona is selling infiniti elite maintenance plan for about $1000 for QX60 for the lease term. The included items are exactly listed as in the owner’s manual. If you need the contact, please let me know. Also see if you can ask you dealer to match or refund.
You should have asked before signing and it might have helped… to put things into perspective, I got a 45K MSRP Q50 last April for 1000 drive off and 320$ inclcusive of maintenance and wear tear… shopping for a second lease now and asked the same dealer about 2019 qx50 and though there are not much incentives on that, he offered this q50 variant and indicated that it will be less that what I paid last year… its a lesson learnt now so enjoy your car and try to hack the next one
No I did not have VPP, but thanks for the feedback. I am not sure I’d be eligible for VPP given my employer but I will have to do more homework on that. Also my understanding is that it is not a maintenance package but a wear and tear package for damage incurred to the vehicle during the lease of up to $5,000. They originally wanted $2,600 for that but I got them down to $1,300 - they gave me a check for the difference from the $1549 figure in that shows in the contract since it was late at night and they already punched that number in the contract. The money factor they gave me was 0.00086 and they would not budge on it and that was with the best credit possible, tier 1.
This is definitely not best deal ever. Few days ago i got AWD q50 luxe 43k MSRP with payment of 312 before tax.
All I had to pay was:
900$ MSD
255 registration fee
333$ first month
This was still deal of march numbers. April money factor went up big time, so you would have to pay around 2700 in MSD
Thanks for the tip. I did not want to put down any security deposits but that may have been worth it to lower the money factor. Something to think about the next time around. February was a tough month for car buying - no one in LA was dealing. I could not wait because I got a great price on selling my 2001 IS300 Lexus and I had no car. My payment was $410 before the maintenance plan and that includes taxes totaling $3,218.77. As you can see my sticker for the RWD Q50 Luxe with essential, cargo package, and splash guards was just barely over 43K so I am wondering if this dealer just has an inflated sticker price as well.
