2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid Lease in SoCal

My deal on Clarity Touring was about $10K off the price, sales price around $27K. Your deal is significantly better. Back in May there was less inventory and no end-of-quarter push to sell. You could likely get an even better deal on June 30th since it’s last day of the quarter, but the deal you have posted here looks excellent to me for the upgraded Touring model. Good luck!

Can you let us know what dealership you worked with? I’m looking for the same car and same deal!

Here are the dealerships that are willing to play ball and the amount of discounts they were willing to entertain on the Touring.

Add the $7k incentive if leasing is the option you choose. Norm Reeves replied back today and is the front runner at $10,841 off MSRP if leased. Add in the college incentive and that’ll bring the discount to $11,341.

Mossy Lemon Grove - $3,500 (in writing)
Norm Reeves Cerritos - $3,841 (in writing)
Norm Reeves Irvine - $3,386 (in writing)
Poway Honda - $3,700 (verbal)
DCH Mission Valley - $2,950 in writing (stated they would match the written offers)

If you need some sort of proof, start with the Norm Reeves and Mossy website. Request the E-Price from their website which will then send an automated email with $3,841 and $3,500 off MSRP. Use that as written proof to leverage better deals. Good luck and report back how you do!

Anybody - who recently gets a lease on the Clarity Base Model - does mind to share your numbers?

I am considering to lease one and would be interested to learn from other members. Thanks

Hello, I just joined to give my two cents in hopes that it will help others. I’ve never leased a car before but the instant credit enticed me followed by the unknowns of new tax reforms and standard deductions. Anywho I leased a base 2018 Honda clarity plug-in hybrid from Hardin Honda in Anaheim. Buena Park Honda was willing to match the offer but they didn’t have it in white.

I left the lot with 36/12, $285/mo incld taxes and registration, $2000 down - ($2500-$500 military discount) and came with carpool lane stickers which costs $22 every year. I like to think I got a fair deal, it wasnt bad but id like to think i could have done a little bit better too. Has anyone got a better rate?

I am getting a 36/15k deal on the touring edition.

The price is $327 a month and $1150 taxes tags etc due at signing.

This is in NY from Plaza Auto Leasing - they have a few left.

Awesome info…can you please let us know what you settled on?

We elected to go with a Touring model from a local dealership (Mossy Lemon Grove). Although I don’t have the exact deal in front of me right now, the 36/12k deal came out to $345/month (tax included).

$1,500 drive off from us and $500 contribution from Honda for college grad incentive.

They were very easy to work with. I talked to the sales manager (Kevin) to review the numbers over the phone, selected a car in their inventory, and that was it. In and out of the dealership in about an hour.

Thanks…can you tell me the final sales price? Norm Reeves is telling me the best they can do is $27,990. I don’t qualify for the recent College Grad.

Can you share your actual selling price and who did the deal for you at Norm Reeves?

Thanks!

Just got a great quote from Sierra Honda in Monrovia (Frank Gray is great to work with!)…they included the lease cash and netted the car down to $27,500. I could probably push for a little more, but I am happy with this deal. The other dealers were playing dumb and didn’t want to pass the cash on to me. Norm Reeves Cerritos played hardball and only offered to match the best price. MF is the same as above 00071.

Does the $1150 include the taxes or are the taxes additional??

Since it was drive off price that should be including taxes.

Hi, $27,500 is on base model or touring? Could you please give breakdown?
Thanks…

Touring…
36/20k (not a typo, i needed miles)

MSRP: $37,495
Discount: $10,030
Net Price$27,465

Residual sucks because of the miles 37% and MF is 0.00071.

$1,500 drive off

Payment is $449 including tax.

I could be well under $449 if I could have done the 12k lease.

Like I said, I probably could have received an additional few hundred off, if I haggled more. But, Sierra was the only dealer that would pass through the lease cash.

Base
36/ 15 K

MSRP $34500
discount $7300

residual $14025

$1000 drive off

the best I got was $368 per month tax included.

I did not sign because an itch told me a better deal can be had especially with the touring. The dealer that I was at had most of their base models sold out but the Touring model sitting pretty. I think most seem agree that an additional $3000 for the leather seats are not worth it but maybe that can force the dealerships to offer better incentives to move the touring, Any thoughts?

You also get $1,500 and carpool lane access, so that brings total cost to $12,748 for 3 years… I guess that’s still quite high.

On the blog that catalogs the best lease deals on EV cars, this deal was posted for the Clarity Plug In base model:

Hardin Honda

$200/mo + tax

$2999 + tax, lic drive-off
3-year total:

$13565 + tax, lic
12K miles/year
$0.28+/mi*
Checked 8/26/18
Expires 9/19/18

This must be a typo, right? How could the monthly payment be $200/month?

I think Honda was running a deal on the EV’s specifically in CA and Oregon. I placed a couple of enquiries with SoCal dealers (only a limited number supply them) and was told there’s a waitlist :frowning: - I asked to be added so we’ll see what happens.

The higher mileage limit was of particular interest to me.

$199/month plus tax
36 months
$1,499 Due at Signing
20,000 miles

I called Hardin yesterday. The deal has expired. They tried to get me to bite with the same down but $250/mo including tax.

Even at $250/month and that down payment, that’s a heckuva lot better deal than the current advertised deal. I’m in the market after Labor Day, so interested to see if this deal comes around again, particularly as they start clearing out the 2018’s. Any clue what might be changed for 2019, if anything?
