Hadn’t followed this season thus far or seen any articles, Mclaren having issues with Renault as well? Maybe the problem is institutional?
I have yet to see a single actual failure with the 1.5T, just a lot of histrionics. Not as much of a Honda fanboy as I used to be due to things like you mentioned, but it seems like the paranoia level is irrationally high for the 1.5T. Fuel dilution is no joke, but the biggest (most important and more expensive) potential failure mechanism for fuel dilution is bearing failure. My company supplies those and the engines have no issues. No warranty claims. No test failures. Nothing. There are many engines out there with far worse issues and they don’t get hysterical articles on the internet.
That article is a great example of the histrionics;
It could also lead to stalling or loss of power during short trips or low-speed driving, such as in heavy traffic, especially in cold weather.
I could also drive into a tree any day now…
They are worse this year. Worst team on the grid outside of Williams, but that’s only because Fernando was actually trying for the first half of the season. Red Bull has had tons of problems with the Renault engine too. They were smart to let Toro Rosso work out the kinks with the Honda engine and give it a go next year.
Causation vs. correlation?
But she would look good with a bag from walmart?
Do you really think the civic has more of a presence, brand recognition, and status then literally any infiniti?
No, you did not have to. I drove a very well-equipped Q50, sunroof, navigation and all, for $0 down and $330/month. Also, power seats and many enhanced safety systems are standard on a Q50 and many luxury cars these days. It’s not like the early 2000s when base 3-Series didn’t have power seats.
In fact, the base model 2.0t Q50 is more expensive to lease than the mid-trim 3.0t because the residual is weaker and the discounts are not as substantial.
All that said, I don’t love the Q50. In your position I would’ve just gotten a QX30 hatch, which has all the safety tech standard and would probably cost $30-50 less a month with some good negotiation.
The Civic is humble while the Q50 is a braggart
If you notice and judge the type of handbag a woman carries, you have an entirely different set of problems.
Sorry if I offended you.
The deal doesn’t really matter - you wanted a Civic. You got a Civic! Congratulations! Post some pics.
You might even make another $2300 at the end of the lease again.
But there is no questions which one is worth more. You viewing a civic as humble in no way makes it a better car then the Q50. The civic beats it in fuel economy sure. But nothing else.
And it has Apple Carplay. If you were a contractor which car would you pull up in to negotiate?
Enjoy the car. I have a Civic EX Hatch and I absolutely love it. Had I been able to get into the Sport Touring I definitely would have (those rims…). I tried to, but the depreciation on it is so much higher. The only other car I’d be interested in after my lease ends would be the Type R, but I’ve been restricted from getting a stick. Like you I have no real interest in a luxury car or a midsize sedan. I love Honda and I love my Civic Hatch.
$335 isn’t cheap, but by no means did you get ripped off. You’re at 1.17%, when the made-up goal is 1%. Had you gotten the payment to $282 you would have hit that mark. For $53 extra per month you’re getting to drive an awesome car and more importantly the car you want. I could have gotten a Chevy Trax for $60/month, but I’m paying an extra $150 per month for my Civic and I have no regrets.
There is nothing made up about it. Once you start get above 1%, and definitely above 1.5%, it often just makes sense to finance at that point.
I think RVGuy laid out a better way to calculate this so called 1% number. Also your not a leasehacker unless its .5% of MSRP with taxes & fees rolled in.
Examples – Volvo S90, Hyundai Genesis and some of the BMW deals.
Stay on topic or this thread will be closed for cleanup.
I don’t think Genesis can be lumped into that group anymore. I haven’t seen any good Gensis lease deals.
Please dont give me ticket. I’ll stay on topic.
But people should read RVGUYS posts – they are very informative.
Umm… I think 1% is most definitely made-up. There is no true science behind it. It just happens to be a round number that was generally agreed upon. Why not 1.05%? Why not .95%? It’s convenient to use 1%. I think the Leasehackr score is a more accurate measure of how good of a deal you got leasing in comparison to purchasing.
Holy crap. All I hear about is Q50, Q50, Q50!!! Seriously, the Q50 Sport starts at almost 50K. I just checked the website, and the lease deal where I live is $369, 39 months w/about 7K down…And the QX30, well the Honda Civic Hatch is nicer.
