2018 gmc acadia conquest cash - some questions

gmc acadia has 2,250 conquest cash for competitive lessees. im coming out of a jeep so i should qualify. i went on truecar to check local prices and it shows an average saving of around 4,500 off msrp. im looking at the SLE-2 with AWD.

so my question for the hackers is how do i go about negotiating the price? if the truecar average is around 34,000 thats not including incentives, i feel like they will try to include the 2250 incentive in whatever discount off msrp they give me. obviously i want to first get them to knock off the 4,500 and then get an additional 2250 off.

also if i call the dealership will they give me the money factor and residual over the phone without me coming in first? i dont feel like wasting another afternoon at a dealership with them coming to me with monthly payments and not knowing where the numbers are coming from. i want to have a good idea and also realistic expectations before i go to the dealership.

You don’t have to talk to a dealership to get money factor and residual. Google “2018 GMC Acadia money factor” and one of the first links should be an Edmunds forum with a specific Acadia thread. Create an account and post what terms you want (36/12k, etc.), your trim, and where you are located, and they will reply with the MF and RV. With those numbers, you can use the calculator here to roughly guess where your monthly payments would be with a $4,500 discount plus $2,250 in incentives, just so you have a rough idea if those numbers would work for your budget.

Many people on this website will advise to negotiate over email/phone and only go into the dealership to sign the paperwork. That advice worked wonders for me on my last lease and saved me many afternoons of sitting in a dealership while the salesperson and finance manager play their games.

TrueCar pricing may include incentives that aren’t available for leases.
