2018 Ford Explorer Sport (not demo), 12% discount, $420 excl / $500 incl MD tax -- took it

Editing the post now that I’ve signed the deal. Poor dealer, offered me $500 sign/drive payment based on VA tax, which is 4.5%, whereas MD is 6%. Deal was already locked in, so they ate $750 more than they had planned when they offered the deal  $799 doc fee is criminal, but $6,359 sticker discount made it tolerable.

NEW 2018 Ford Explorer Sport - Blue Metallic (with 401a equipment group + twin moonroof)
MSRP: $52,515
Sales Price: $46,156 (12.1% discount)
Rebate: $5,000
Doc Fee: $799 (I know, I know)
Acq Fee: $645
Term: 36 months / 10.5k miles
Residual: $28,677 (55%)
MF: 0.00031 (0.75%)

Rebate Breakout: $2,500 Lease cash + $2,000 Ford private offer + $500 Select Inventory Bonus = $5,000

Drive-off: $499.99
Payment: $499.99. (MD Sales tax makes up $80 of the payment)

Leasehackr score is screwy because of MD’s sales tax craziness. That said, I did the best I could with tool even though tax is off somewhat and payment is off by a few bucks. LeaseHacker Score isn’t great, but payment is $20 under the 1% rule, even with MD tax. Excluding tax, I’m at 0.8% of MSRP. And Ford leases are generally terrible, so maybe a decent result?

Why aren’t all the rebates taxed in your calculator?

Also: how did you score the 2k private offer? someone told me they were done.

The certificate is good through July but you already need to have it, can’t get them anymore.

I screwed up earlier not selecting “taxable” for rebates in calculator. Couldn’t get the math to match the deal sheet. And of course, the dealer had a half dozen deal sheets with bad math, given they got MD tax wrong. I’ve updated the above with the final deal sheet, where they dropped the sales price further to match the increase in sales tax.
