So I am leasing a 2018 Buick Encore Sport Touring with safety pkg and sport pkg. here is the verbal deal we struck:
36 month lease
12k Miles/yr
No money down
Zero Drive off (1st month payment will be paid at closing)
No disposition fee
$230/mo payment.
I’m happy with the terms I negotiated here, probably won’t break any leashackr records but any input on closing the deal would help. Thx
So I’m trying to prepare for the written agreement and all of the add-ons they will try to sell.
Should I ask for anything else? Any tips on closing?
details? conquest / other rebates you qualify for? probably should post in the other encore thread.
I do not know how the dealer is waiving the disposition fee. It is charged by GM Financial when you turn in the vehicle.
My immediate reaction to the title was to think to myself “there’s no such thing”. If you’re happy with the deal, offer to put a refundable deposit down upon receipt of the contract.
230 for an encore seems a lot. We need details like MSRP and what incentives they are applying. No dispo fee is unusual but I am sure they figured a way to wrap it in…
I don’t see how unless they have one of your crystal balls and know they won’t lease another GM vehicle in two years. It would get waived anyway if they re-up.
I tend to agree. I have yet to see anyone confirm/prove that they have a -0- on the “disposition fee” line of a contract, at least in the last few years since GMF has begun charging this. Unless GMF has some sort of promo going on, which I also have not heard of, I can’t see how the dealer can waive a disposition fee. Similar to “the dealer is going to eat my mileage overage” at the end of the lease. Since that goes to the captive, the dealer can’t do that, unless rolling it into the new one, or buying it outright
Perhaps he’s referring to grounding his existing GM lease. In that case, there wouldn’t be a disposition fee on the old car.
Theoretically. GMF has been running this as a “promo” for well over a year now. Technically, they can pull it at any time, although, I would suspect this would be unlikely, since it seems to be the norm with most captives these days.
Exactly, it seems to have become standard practice to offer some kind of waivers, forgiveness, etc in order to keep you in one of their vehicles.
After long hard negotiations on Sports Touring FWD, I was able to get $220. I suppose which could have been further down to $190-200 realistically speaking.
Is yours AWD or FWD?
Sorry for the lack of details, Here is the worksheet we were going from:
Here was their initial offer:
The first image was when I told them zero down- they were at something like $279/mo for 36mo.
I will post the timeline of the deal on the deal page once I sign.
I know that nothing is for sure until everything is signed but hopefully it will happen today.
My original post is what I counteroffered and manager over the phone said he accepted- more to come. Thanks
Have you asked for numbers for 2 yr lease instead?
I understand its a 1200 difference between base pricing of preferred and sport (maybe ur unit has extra accesorries) but I was offered $169 tax included for 2 yr/10k on the preferred. the MSRP for your unit will tell us if its fair or high cause for a standard sport with no additionals, 230 3 yr lease is a lot for an encore.
Agree with you for the most part but also know that there will be $15-30 from preferred to Sports Touring which comes with more features. Just saying in case he’s expecting Touring to be at 169 it may be hard sell
By The MSRP you can see it does have some options added and remember the $800+ On my current lease added in.
To be honest … your numbers are inflated as they stand. Are you set on encore only? Have looked for Equinox or gmc terrain
Ok I asked for honesty. Thanks - I am set on the Encore
recently a dealer gave a written note to my friends saying that they will reimburse the disposition fees if GM doesn’t waive it off. First time i heard something like this.
Base encore preferred can be had for $140/month, so you’re paying an extra $90 a month for 20? more horsepower and like a couple of chrome bits.
Actually for $135 for the base per the article on this site.
Yes chrome is expensive these days.
Anyway, the deal is done and I’m very happy. Thank all of you for the constructive comments. I couldn’t have done it without the experienced voices on this site- I would have payed much more if I hadn’t visited this site.
market value selling price is not the same as MSRP; what is the msrp?
i don’t see how you got this to 230/month; does that include your negative equity of 828?
