2018 BMW X5 xDrive35i SUV

A dealer near me has a loaner vehicle with an MSRP of 63k. They are advertising it at 5k off MSRP. I’d like to inquire and go see it, but prior to actually engaging them I want to have a realistic idea of what we can do here as a “solid” deal and a unicorn deal. I’ve noticed alot of people have had some pretty slick deals with loaners recently.

I’m looking for 12k/miles a year, duration for me doesnt matter as I go for whatever keeps the payment lower.

If they are only offering $5k off a loaner, is it even worth negotiating with them? That’s less than 8% off MSRP and you’d want at least 20% off to get a great deal.

Well, I haven’t spoken to them once. I don’t think a dealer would advertise the full amount they are willing to take off on their website being that there are ALOT of suckers out there who might bite right away…Its got about 2k miles. So you think that 20% is the key on the MSRP? So we are talking at least about 12k off.

If you are looking for a great deal, then yes. Will the dealer do it? Probably not, especially since it’s a 2018 and they don’t need to get rid of it anytime soon.

They do also have a 2017, but the MSRP is 67k. The higher the MSRP the more I stray from my goal of sub $600/mo (maybe its unrealistic)

SUVs are dominating the market right now. It’s going to be hard to get deep discounts, in addition to the reasons already mentioned. Residuals aren’t great either.

Much easier to get better deals on sedans. BMW-wise at least.

I’d suggest seeing how much off MSRP they will do pre-incentive, but definitely expand your search radius to get more access to other 2017 loaners.

BMW X5 residuals aren’t awful, the big problem with the leases is the money factor isn’t great (not horrible either), but you can’t do MSD’s or a one-pay lease to bring down the interest. Also, a 5k discount on a loaner is Laughable.

As someone said, bmw has no problem moving suv’s off the lot, so they really don’t need to provide much support.

If the discount is big enough, the high MSRP has less impact on a lease than a purchase.

My offer: same car but 4019 miles. MSRP 61 695, they offered 9% off 55 525 selling price after first phone contact. Currently I am on 13% off 53 674 plus 4000 rebate - 3000 lease cash, 1000 college grad (my co-signer). My MF is 0.00196 and residual 58%.

BMW doesn’t do MSD’s anymore.

Are those rebates after you got to 53? So in essence you are at about 46k? If so your monthly should be about $509 with tax in payment correct? Thats the kind of deal im looking for

Yes, rebate after I got 13%. Selling price with rebate is 49 674$. I always start with rebate after I get selling price as I like. I learned that here. Never start with rebate before you get your selling price. I am on 560$, but haven’t seen entire calculation. Going to dealership on Friday as I am on business trip. Leasehackr calculator says different numbers but I was told I have to adjust miles. Aperantely 0.25$/mile above 500 miles. My car is 4019 miles.

Right, I said they don’t do msd’s which is a big reason they don’t lease as well anymore

You are correct. I misunderstood.
