It’s my first time ever leasing a car so I definitely don’t have any experience or ins and outs of this whole process.
After reading many posts here, I know that this deal isn’t really good. But could you tell me what would be the reasonable price for this lease?
Basically, with 1k down, they are asking for $682/mo. And they said it’s a bargain because the car has been in stock for over 200 days so they gave me a discount just to get it off the lot faster.
For some reason the images are not being attached. I’ve tried several times.
Here’s the breakdown of the car.
MSRP: 49,660
Savings: 4,469
Net Selling price: 45,191
Sales Tax: 1,451.40
Dealer/State Fees: 1,620.97
Down Payment: 1000
Net Residual: 29,796
Program Miles: 7,500
Term: 36 months
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
so here are the pricing options:
1000 down - $682.75/mo
2000 down - $652.12/mo
3000 down - $621.50/mo
I feel like I’m being ripped off. I tried negotiating but the sales guy said that since January 1st, Audi has upfront pricing policy and they just give the best price right away so we don’t have to negotiate.
Correct. But that was last week of the year and the dealership was motivated to sell. I called all the dealership within driving distance in Texas to get this deal.
No, this trim was just Premium with added navigation package for $3,000, panoramic sunroof, convenience package and 19" wheels. That’s what brought up the price from the base cost of $41,500 to $49,660.
You can actually get closer to 1% on an sq5 believe it or not. The residual is pretty high (I think 4 points higher than a q5), especially for an Audi. You’ll need to use msd’s as well.
As an 6 time Audi lessor I would STRONGLY advise you, and anyone reading this, to NEVER get the Premium package…go for the Premium Plus. The reason the car has been sitting on the lot is no one wants a Premium package for virtually the same price as a P+ car!
You’re buying a luxury car, and the Premium is lacking features that a 30K Toyota or Honda have.
And always get Audicare…with 1% residual bump, it virtually pays for itself.
I wouldn’t get this car, but if they made me an great offer (zero drive off, under 500/month with tax, audicare, 36/12k), then I’d consider it.

So true, and even worse they have those subtle designs to the exterior to make sure brand snobs know you’re driving a base model like removing the chrome trim, uglier rims etc. Like how Porsche has the logos on the rims in black for the stripper models vs. full color for better trims.
