2018 audi a4 2.0t sedan

Hello experts,

Need your advice on below leasing option for 2018 Audi A4.

MSRP : 40,500
Sale Price: 32,395
Residual amount: 20,250

1500 down with $398 per month for 39 months.

Any suggestions/ feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I’m assuming this doesn’t include Audicare?

With Audi you only get the first service free, so the 39 months 10k miles per year will mean you will definitely have to pay for the 20k and 30k service. So you will either want to add Audicare or reduce the term to 36 months and try and dodge the 30k service, meaning you’d only have the one service at 20k to pay for. Do the maths and work out which makes sense for you.

~20% discount looks good. Get them to ditch the added extras as you’re only leasing so they don’t benefit you at all.

Good advice any idea what the price of the 20k service would be for the A4?

Also, there seems to be $700 of accessory add-on products (scotchgard film and some sort of paint protection system) - did you intend for that?

Thank you so much for the feedback. Haven’t asked for any extras… any idea how much an avg. servicing costs?

Nope. I didn’t…

Apart from the service costs, is it a reasonable deal if i get it down to 36 months?

I’d ask them to remove those two charges and add audicare in it’s place. I think it’s otherwise a solid deal. Also you should consider Max MSD to save on interest and lower your monthly.

The extras I meant are the scotchguard and paint protection, they’re just padding their profits.

If you go for 36 months you should be able to get away with only the 20k service but it’s a bit risky if you go a little over your miles or if the service light shows when you hand it back at the end of the lease. You’ve got a couple of different options. The safe option is Audicare as it would only really cost you ~$400 but that would pay for the 20k service which is probably $150-200 at an Audi service centre, and would cover the 30k service if it was required. The more risky option to try and save more money is to use the Audi dealer coupons they occasionally post which reduces the servicing cost a little, but it depends how many Audi dealers you have near you and they might not have them when you need to service your vehicle.

I would go with Audicare as it’s a safe choice and you will know how much your servicing costs will be over the period of the lease.

I opted out of AudiCare since the first service is free, you’d be paying for 20K and 30K out of pocket. You can find service deals for about $70-80 for a synthetic oil change. These official maintenance visits are an oil change and 30 or so inspection points, lubrication as needed, and cleaning of different connections of your car. If you take proper care of your vehicle, I think you’ll be okay, but if peace of mind is paramount, then if you opt for Audicare then they should credit you at least a point on the residual.

Ditto on the 20% discount, that is major! Aside from the aftermarket paint extras which are not necessary, the monthly still sounds too high. Curious what the money factor and dealer fees are in this scenario…

Is this an A4 Premium Tech or just a regular A4 Premium? You want an A4 Premium Tech.

You don’t need AudiCare to pre-pay for overpriced service at the Audi dealer, but that’s just my opinion. Also depends how much you drive - I don’t even reach 20k miles during a 3 year lease - so I think differently.

Lease looks okay. Get rid of the Paint Protection and Scottguard. I’d roll that $1,500 in and also do MSDs which will get it down $20/month or so.
