Been lurking these forums for a while now. I’ve recently been looking into leasing a truck because 1. I need something a little bigger than my Accord coupe, 2. would like something to haul my atv and whatever else around.
Basically I have 6 months left of my accord lease totaling $1826.82 left (yeah I know, way too much on my 2015 Accord LX-S). I was looking into a 2017 Ram 1500 lease and received some numbers back from the dealer. They have a ton of 2017s in stock so I figured I could probably get a good deal if they’re looking to move some inventory. I believe I can get more of a discount off the MSRP, but not sure how much more. I attached what the dealer sent me below. Lemme know what you think. Ideally trying to get to $350/month or less.
Edit: Forgot to mention it is a 2017 Ram 1500 Express Crew Cab with the 5.7L V8
Well my credit isn’t the best, somewhere around 650. Also, in reply to the previous comment about the true car value, I’m having trouble getting the exact configuration of the truck. I thought I also ready somewhere that true car is not necessarily an accurate indicator.
Now they’re telling me it’s $6500 in rebates, the rest is coming from them and the payment would be $397+tax. With $1195 is drive offs. I think I’m just gonna have to wait until my current lease is up. Only 5 months to go!
Horrible numbers. I was quoted 279 for 36/12 through ally sign and drive for an express quad. Discount is terrible, rebates not great, bad deal overall. Don’t do it.
The discount doesn’t look all that great. In my area, the advertised $0 down lease (which DOESN’T include Tax+Reg+Doc) is $279/39 with 10k miles for a 4X4 Express Crew V8, or $319 for the Big Horn version. The Big Horns have $7500 is dealer discounts on them at my dealer of preference, so that really helps drive down the price. I’d suggest contacting a few other RAM dealers - see if they can do better on the discount front, since the incentives are all the same anyway.
If you can run to Culver City, a quick search shows that Nissani Bros has almost $6000 dealer discount on the truck you want. Could also send that to your dealer - see if they will match.
I only spent 5 minutes on this - could easily be some bigger discounts. You are fortunate in CA to have so many dealers around - plenty to use to play off each other.
