I’m in the market for a 2017 RAM 1500 LARAMIE ECODIESEL CREW CAB 4X2 5’7" BOX. I would like to have my numbers right prior to entering the dragon’s den. Any helpful input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Am I looking for at least 11% off the total, before incentives? Or, do incentives factor in to the 11% (minimum) off of MSRP?
11% off of $42,095 is $37,464.55. Add in the destination charge and the options ($6,925), and we’re at $44,389.55. Incentives/rebates reduce that number by $8,250, which brings us to $37,139.55.
Does this sound right? Sounds too good to be true.
Incentives are as follows:
California Chrysler Capital 2017 Bonus Cash CACH57: $500
California 2017 Bonus Cash CACHA8: $1,500
California BC Lease Cash 71LH18: $5,250
Factory Rebate for current Lessee of a Non-Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM Truck: $1,000
The lease I got was back in May, so obviously things change month to month and your mileage may vary. But as a starting point, I leased a $49K and change MSRP Big Horn, crew cab with the HEMI for $300/mo, 36 months, 10K a year, with absolutely not a penny down, other than first month payment. And that included acquisition fee, doc fees, all the bullshit fees.
I think I got 20% off MSRP, or somewhere around there. I don’t remember the details of the lease exactly.
And PS: I love that truck.
Edit: When I was shopping around there were lots of advertised deals, with crazy low prices, like $36K for a $52K truck. But none of those incentives applied to leases. So don’t assume all those bonus cash offers apply to a lease, they probably won’t.
I’m also in the market for a Laramie 4x2 in Florida but I don’t have the $1500 California bonus cash available to me. Are you sure that applies to leases?
You will also need to know the residual value and money factor in order to ensure you’re getting the best possible deal. You can get that info from the edmunds.com forum
The incentives vary from trim to trim. A Sport Night model is eligible for $1,000 less than a Laramie with EcoDiesel.
The LeaseHackr calculator specifies:
Money Factor: 0.00100 (2.4% APR)
Residual: 61%
I’m not sure how it would know what the money factor would be without knowing my credit information. I have a minimum of “Tier 1” credit on all three credit bureaus, and “Tier 0” on 2 of 3 bureaus.
I believe the MF and RV that autopopulates in the calculator is not valid. I checked in the Edmunds forum today for my area and RV is 50% for 36/12k Laramie 4x2 and MF is .00165. Of course the dealer can always try to mark up the MF but knowing the base rate will give you ammo to negotiate.
