2017 Nissan Altima

Not the sexiest car on this forum, but have been religiously searching through the web and landed here, where it looks like the best advice is being offered. If possible, looking for advice on lease deal and how to possibly lower it. Relatively new to leasing, so requesting a lookover of this lease deal and any tips that can be offered.

2017 Nissan Altima SL
MSRP 30,255
Sale Price: 28,500.
Total Rebates: 1,900.
Total Upfront charges (642.85) + 1mo payment (435.28) = $1000 due on delivery.

435.28/mo 36/12

Thank you very much for any insight, no matter how scathing, you can provide…and any possible assistance pertaining to possibly improving this deal.

That seems incredibly high to me. A guy leased a Maxima for $500 down and like $365 a month.

Read through some of the Q50 threads for a good alternative to an Altima SL. As the poster above suggested, look through some of the Maxima threads too.

A good rule of thumb for leasing value-brand vehicles like Nissan, Toyota, etc. is to always look at a base Infiniti Q50 or Lexus ES350 instead of an Altima SL or Camry XLE, etc. The payment can be the same or lower many times.

However, Altima and Camry, for example, can be great low-price lease candidates if you stick to the correct mid-to-low-end trims like S/SR or LE/SE.

Agree that you should look at another car if you can’t significantly lower the price. You need them to tell you want to know what the money factor is (find it yourself, so that you know if they’re marking it up), the residual, and what fees they’re charging.

Assuming all of those things are what they should be, you need to get them to lower the sales price, pre-rebate. You should be able to get $24-$25k before the rebate.

I always find a good starting point to be autotrader, just so you can see what sales price dealers around the country are offering before negotiation. Search the specific make, model, and trim, set it for any distance, and start from there. Find the best, then ask your local dealers to beat it.

As was the same for me, you made a good decision coming to this board before pulling the trigger. It’s amazing the deals that people get and it gives you the confidence to do it yourself. Flavor of the month seems to be the Infiniti Q50, which can be had for around $300-$350 a month.

If you want a way better deal than the average person, without the work, reach out to a broker on here.

Good luck and let us know how the search goes.
