Hi there! First off, I am new to all of this, so please bear with me as I learn. I am looking into assuming a lease on a 2017 Mercedes C300 4Matic. The car has 7 months, with approx. 2,700 miles per month remaining. Monthly price is around $550 per month, but with the approx. $1,300 incentive being offered comes out to around $365 per month. I am located in NJ but the car is out of NY. Any advice you guys could give me?
Keep in mind there is a $600 (plus tax!) transfer fee as well as a $500 disposition fee with Mercedes Benz effectively negating the incentive. If you will use most of those available miles and want the very short term then it could be a deal for you. If you don’t need the miles then a longer term with a 1000 miles a month or so available would be better. Is this a base level c300 or higher trim with amg package, leds, driver assistance etc? I’ve done numerous Mercedes lease transfers and it’s relatively simple but takes 4 or 5 weeks. Also you may be responsible for tires at turn in depending on condition as well as any other damage if there is any.
Thanks for the response! Just realized that the incentive comes out to the exact price of the transfer fee plus the first month payment. Had no idea that MB charged the $500 disposition fee as well, so this is all valuable information. I do roughly 1,700 miles per month, so the more miles the better. The listing states that it is fully loaded, with the premium package being highlighted in the equipment area on the listing.
On swapalease it appears to be a mid to base model c300 with the standard 17 inch wheels and the premium package w keyless go and led lighting. Not a bad car by any means but “fully loaded” gets tossed around way too easily. The car could be optioned out well over 50k and I’d say the orginal msrp was in the low 40s. If you drive that many miles this is realistically your only way to lease a car so it may still be a good deal for your situation just understand the extra costs involved on such a short term that would normally be spread out over a longer time. You will likely need tires but I usually buy a set of non run flats to put on for when I drive it then turn the car in with the original run flats.
Interesting point with the tires and spread out costs. All things considered, it is not the only car I am looking at, but the price jumped out to me so I had to investigate. Since you’ve dealt with MB in the past, any things I should look out for when looking into taking on these cars?
The car is under warranty so you don’t have too much to worry about. Make sure maintenance services have been performed up to date. In theory on a lease mbfs could ding you for it however I’ve never needed to provide any documentation for having the services performed at independent shops as mb dealers fees for basically an oil change and cabin filter for service A are astronomical. Just want to avoid any prexisting damage obviously. Otherwise I’ve found mbfs to be about the same as other lease companies upon turn in.
Something like this may also suit your needs without the high transfer fees. (And be more fun to drive, provided its not about the 3 pointed star for you)
Or this one just posted lol 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300 4Matic Sport Pano Premium 9 mos remaining, 1800 mi per mo?
I wasn’t going to self promote🤪
Thanks for the help. Definitely worth a look!
