LA market is very competitive…maybe there’s just not that many Ghiblis in Chicago. I would have bought out of state
Wouldn’t it make sense then for a lot of people not in Cali to buy cars there and then ship them to their respective state? Seems like Cali numbers are way better then anything I see in Georgia by a long shot. It’s not even close.
Sometimes that works. I found when looking at the Jaguar F Type, for example, that some dealers simply wouldn’t sell to people out of state, and others would add $500 - $1000 in fees to sell out of state. Then you add transport costs on top of that, and it isn’t nearly as good a deal.
A lot of people in CA were actually buying out of state at the end of 2014 since some deals were insane in Florida etc. However, I got my ghibli in the first quarter of 2015 and the the bigger CA dealers were fighting against each other to move cars. Anaheim
Hills was really pushing at that point.
The only real issue is that you usually buy the car sight unseen (unless you fly/drive over) and someone has to pay shipping of you don’t pick up. Also the registration process is less simple.
Sounds like for people like me (Georgia). My best bet would be to get a car in Florida then.
Ziegler Maserati in Chicago has a special on their site for a 2017 SQ4 with a near $85000 MSRP with 10k annual miles for $0 down & $759 a month. Considering that is just the advertised special, I wouldn’t be surprised if you could make it closer to ~$700 a month. Really hope that wasn’t the dealer you actually leased from.

great manager at this dealer
probably doesnt help much, but i had a 2016 sq4, 79.800 sticker… i put $1,400 oop which was first months payment and inception costs… 36 months/10k per yr and I was paying $699/month - this was factoring in 14k off sticker
Hello, this is my first post. I have been offered the following on a 2017 Ghibli S Q4 for 36 month, 10k miles/year.:
MSRP: $93,570
Discount: -$16,090
Aquisition Fee: $795
License & Title Fee: $1,000
Down Payment: $1,000
Deposit: 0
Money Factor: .00016
Monthly Payment: $878
This seems like a good but not great deal to me. Perhaps I should push for a bigger discount, or wait a month or two. I believe the 2018 model gets more HP, which could really push down 2017 prices when it hits dealerships.
Out of curiosity I was looking around. Seems like maybe you could try and get a bigger discount.

Thing with higher end cars like this, it’s definitely not uncommon for dealers to deal with out-of-state-buyers, so wherever you are you could probably get a little bidding war going.
Thanks man, that is one hell of discount you found. I am on the other side of the country (Pacific NW), but it does give me something to negotiate off of.
Just saved that to my Cars.com app this morning. I’m thinking of negotiating on this one. However, it appears to be a demo with ~6,500 miles. So i’ll shoot for ~38% off MSRP, which should bring me to approx. ~53.5k. I just put those numbers in the LH calculator and I think I broke it…
Put in that real residual value and watch those dreams go away.
Call the dealer and get the actual figures they are proposing, then you can run numbers and determine how much more you’d ask off. New models @ 12K miles a year were in the 49%-50% range on the residual fyi.
Seems like your biggest mistake was buying a Lexus lolllll
