2017 LR Discovery Sport HSE demo quote

Hackr’s new user here, love the forum, has been extremely helpful, now I would like to ask for your opinions of this deal:

2017 LR Discovery Sport HSE demo model with roughly 2k miles
39 months/10k miles/yr
MSRP: $56,528
Sales price: $48,000
Acquisition fee: $795.00
Title and doc fees: $393.15
Taxes: $1881.85, located in Chicago, 9.25% total rate (additional 9% use tax levied monthly due to Chicago usage tax)
MF: .00001
Residual: 53%, should be 56% but they said since it’s a loaner they use the 53% rate, I argued at 2k miles at .30/mile it should be 55% but they wouldn’t budge
Total cash due on delivery: $942.43
Monthly payment: $549.28 (this includes the $45.35 9% Chicago usage tax), $455.68 if you strip out taxes

So what do you all think, good deal? Thanks for all the help in advance!

I’d say you should shop it around a bit and I think you could do better. Try getting loaner quotes from a few different dealers in the Midwest.

Good luck trying to get it under the 1% rule with zero down… you can do it!

Is the rule of thumb 1% of MSRP, or 1% or purchase price? Thanks for the reply!

Generally from the msrp and then including the taxes.

So for example, I leased a 2017 jeep Cherokee with an MSRP of 32,590. My monthly payment including taxes (MN) is $299 so it beats the 1% rule and becomes generally accepted by this community as a good value. I think you can do better! I shopped around for 3 weeks before the right deal struck and a dealer I wanted to buy from would Best the other dealers offer.
