2017 Jetta SE Lease

*Update. Sealed the deal last night with some last minute negotiations. Ended up with a 2017 White Jetta SE for $237 a month on a 36/15 lease with $0 down and asked for and got the first 10,000 maintenance thrown in for free. Not quite the 1% but considering this dealer’s “can’t go any lower, final offer” was $276 with $1214 down 24 hours earlier, feel pretty good about this and GF is happy:)

Any opinion on this lease offer from a Phoenix, AZ VW dealership would be appreciated! There are a ton of 17’ Jetta’s on the lots around here so do you think there is more room for negotiating on sales price or am I missing any incentives or rebates?

2017 Jetta SE:
$23,145 - MSRP
$19,450 - Sales Price
$ 1,500 - rebate

.000010 - MF
46% - Residual for 36/15K
7.8% - Sales Tax
$625.00 - Acquisition Fee
$489.00 - Doc Fee (AZ charges a ton)
$383.27 - License Plate
$199.00 - Window Tint (they were charging $399 but I said I will pay $200)

$238 - Lease Hackr Calculator w/$1472 drive off (1st payment, TTL and Tint)

Probably better off getting a Civic for that kind of money.

One thought is not to lease a vehicle for more miles than the new car warranty covers.

But, overall, I think $238 would be ok if, it is a zero drive off. with 1,500 drive off, I think it is too much. Get a Camry…

VWs lease so poorly these days because of the residual. There’s only so much you can do. I got a 2016 Jetta Sport last year for $210 w/$255 total drive off when the residuals were in the 50s.

It’s for my GF and this is the car she wants:(. Also, she’s usually just around 13K a year so that’s why we bumped it to 15K but could possibly try 12K and pay the difference.

Thanks to the posters above…

I was able to work down a 2017 Passat R-line with MSRP of $26,210 for $268/month with only first payment down (Base MF of .00001 / 6.25% tax). Got it down to $20,500 before rebates of $1500, so final sales price of $19,000. Tint was not included - dealership charges $199 where I can take it to a local place and get it done for $60. I think you could’ve got a steeper discount but it isn’t a Passat - think Jettas have much higher demand.

Ah, congrats on a great deal for the Passat! I emailed five dealers in the Phoenix area (going back and forth for about a week straight) and physically walked into three of them the day before the end of the month and this was the best I could get. Most were not motivated to move or thought I was crazy when I asked for the above deal that I finally got. I agree there should have been more wiggle room on the sales price, maybe they will be more desperate end of this month…
