New to the forum and to leasing cars in general, so apologies if I am not providing enough information or using proper formatting like some of the posts I see. I am in the NYC area. I have been searching for Honda Civic leases, calling a few dealerships and looking at advertised prices, and the one that appears to be the best thus far is this one…
Honda Civic LX with automatic transmission. It’s 3 years/30k miles (.15 per mile thereafter) - $159/m with $754 due at signing which includes a $595 bank fee and 1st month payment. $75 MV doc fee, $10 inspection fee. 350 disposition fee if I don’t lease another civic. Gap insurance included.
Would it be possible to negotiate this lower? Maybe negotiate it to 36k miles at the very least? Some of these deals I see here are incredible, like low 100’s for a car that’s priced significantly higher than a civic. I have excellent credit. Also would consider doing one-pay if it saved a good amount. Thanks.
36mo/12k miles per year
.00060 MF and 55% residual, $1700 lease cash
with such a low money factor, have them roll the 595 acq fee into the lease (don’t pay that upfront)
only first month with tax, the 75 doc and dmv up front
He said there are no other fees…I am unsure about the taxes because he said there would be taxes to be paid and asked about my tax rate. I am very ignorant about leases, sorry again. If each lease payment is taxed according to my tax rate (8.875%) it would be an additional 14.11. My DMV registration fees are probably going to be around $150. I would have to pay those with anything though right? I am trying to simplify things for myself and only worry about the actual payment and what is due at signing. I will ask for all the rest of the details when I go for a test drive, I suppose.
I have gone to Honda of New Rochelle for all my friends who have needed help negotiating and getting a Honda. My first car was from this dealership as well. They are very price aggressive
Thanks, I will look into them as well. I mean how do I go about actually negotiating this though? Do I just show them the yonkers honda ad and ask them to beat it? Can I ask them all this stuff about money factor and residual value and actually get a straight answer? Am I supposed to act like I am buying a car and then all of a sudden say, ok now I want to lease it?
No, say you are leasing.
Show them all your numbers and tell them you left a deposit with the other dealer but was recommended honda of new rochelle and wanted to see if you guys did better. They will give you every number you ask for. They are very transparent.
Or tell them you would really like to be at such and such number. As long as its reasonable.
Also try to go to them near the end of the month, car dealers have goals that they need to meet or surpass and are willing to negotiate harder to sell/lease you the vehicle.
Oh do I hate yonkers honda. I live right by there, and they are scum. A few years back my parents wanted to buy a CR-V. I literally couldn’t get someone with half a brain to help. They wanted it cause it had a lot more features than the comparable Rav4. Navigation, leather, rear view camera, namely. No one that was courteous would help or be willing to negotiate. It was the last year of production for that cycle, so there were massive discounts. Whatever, we went across the street to Westchester toyota and financed a Rav4 for next to no interest.
Is this a good deal for a 2017 Civic LX Auto?
$139/mo for 35 mos. 1st mo free,
$2150 total due at signing which includes: Va sales tax is 4.15%, registration and title roughly $110, acquisition fees is $595 and dealer processing fees is $699.
$12k miles/yr $0.15/mile after that.
