My wife and I went car shopping today and came back with two deals that I’m having trouble deciding between. Do either sound like a good deal?
First car is 2017 Ford Fusion Platinum FWD, MSRP $38,090, selling price $29,245.00. I didn’t get the money factor or residual for this one. For $0 down, payment is $407 a month. Seems like a good selling price but the monthly payment seems high to me. Should I find out the money factor?
Second car is 2017 Honda Accord EX-L w/ Nav & Sensing. MSRP $33,870, selling price $27,237.25. Residual is $15,919, money factor is 0.59%. Monthly payments work out to $388.84 for zero down.
Not super familiar with Fusion leases, but Hondas don’t tend to lease well. That’s a bit pricey on the payment for both cars if you look at the payment vs MSRP. $400 for a Ford Fusion? You could get an S90 for less.
Yes, but you would still have your drive offs and MSDs. Search the forum for S90 and you will see some of the deals people have negotiated in the last few months. Some will require incentives that may no longer be available, but Volvo is trying hard to move these things.
It appears you want the driver assist features such as Honda sensing and the ones found on the Ford platinum trim, I would definitely put the s90 on your list.
There is a Truecar incentive now on the s90 which is equivalent to the A plan, for people who don’t have access to A plan. And you cannot stack with A plan.
Well at a minimum A plan provides 6% off, plus a 3k bonus. The difference is that many Volvo dealers will negotiate below A plan pricing and then you still apply the A plan bonus.
Got it, thanks! I think with this discount it would put me in the <$400 range easily. Is there a trick to getting the PIN? I have certificates from truecar for 2017 and 2018 S90s but haven’t gotten any targeted offers as far as I have seen…
Thanks, I saw that other thread. Thinking of visiting a dealer tomorrow… I’ll see what they say. Doesn’t seem too promising judging from the thread though.
I asked my dealer last week if I could stack them and they said no, but they were aware of the truecar deal, so perhaps your dealer can facilitate if you haven’t received anything from Truecar yet…
So apparently my employer has A-Plan but it’s not on their website anywhere. I called Volvo dealer and they found my company in the database… hahahaha.
Yeah, I had the same experience earlier this year. I knew my company had Ford A-plan, remembered seeing Volvo on there a number of years ago back when Ford owned part of Volvo, then found out that we were still Volvo partners.
