2017 Ford Focus Electric: Or, "What the Heck, Bro"

Unfortunately I am limited to 3 Ford dealerships, as I’m participating in a “Replace Your Ride” program

But seriously, what the heck is this lease they’ve just quoted me?

State: CA
Term: 10,500/year 36mo
"Market Value" $29,995 (MSRP is 29,120–is acquisition rolled into this?)
Savings: 12,860 incl. rebate (I’m assuming this is the 11,750 lease cash + 1,110 off MSRP sales price?)
Vehicle Price: 17,135 Net after rebate + fees
Down payment: $4,000 (!)
Residual: $10,098 (roughly corresponds to 33%)
Payment: $222.08

What is this? I ran it in the Leasehackr calculator and came up with $107/mo with these exact figures

I have no idea what magic they’re doing here

It’s also very far removed from the Ford advertised special of $2639 drive-off and $149/mo

that looks horrible! which dealership is this? looks like one to avoid :fearful:

They also pre-install LoJack on every. single. car. So scammy!

I can’t wait till the Tesla Model 3 drops and all of these dealerships have to rethink the way they do business

It’s Galpin Ford in Panorama City, CA

The only other two I can use are Wondries Ford in Alhambra and Fairview in San Bernardino

Nice. Looks like they’re pocketing almost all of the customer cash from the program in their down payment…

Makes you wonder how they became the highest volume Ford dealer in the world.

What did you put for the money factor?

I put .00031, trying to get as close as I could to the 0.75% APR

So here is the official Ford calculator–am I crazy or is this off?

$30,640 -3,000 -11,750 does not equal 17,144

And then it says 1,972 due at lease signing, but how can that be with 3,000 down payment?

Thanks for your patience, I am still learning at this stuff
