2017 F-type Base Coupe $418 a month $0 down

I tried that that does not work lol. Leasing company is entitled to the claim.

Yes, my battery died and I had to jump it. I guess this was a known issue with 16 & 17 F types. Its under warranty they replaced the battery and it was all good!

It’s an interesting point because the value of the vehicle has diminished due to dealer negligence. Intuitively, you would think that this would benefit the individual leasing the vehicle in some way.

On top of that, I’m also paying $550/mo to drive a Jaguar XE for like a week or so which isn’t particularly fun.

I think you should reach out to both Jaguar and whoever owns the lease (Chase or US Bank) and notify what had happened. Maybe they can adjust it for you. Cause technically that’s their car.

There isn’t an insurance company involved as it seems dealer is handling out of pocket. It would be a tough battle to fight and probably not worth it since I am sure OP doesn’t plan to purchase.

Get them to give you an F-Type or compensate you for difference in car. Dealer sure does not seem overly remorseful, just the bare minimum in service.

Yep, that’s why I said:

What a mess. Dealers shouldn’t be wrecking cars and when they do they should bend over backwards to make it right.

You seem to have a lot of anger towards dealers in general, what gives?

They wrecked his car and gave him an XE. Doesn’t seem like a fair outcome to me, how about you?

If you plugged anything into the OBD port and then unplugged it, there’s some bug with the car where the battery will quickly drain. To fix it, you need to disconnect the battery in the trunk and reconnect it. It’s a bit of a pain because it’s not super easy to access one of the terminals. I think there’s a software update that fixes this

+1 @alim24 totally forgot about that… these Jags are not the beat electrically… make aure to reset your battery anytime you plug anything into obd2 that incmudes a obd2 scanner

Hey guys - though I’m loving convo we are having and really hope we can help @dukez but I think we are going off topic and this old post is pretty expired (1 year)and we keep reviving it. You think we should close this topic? Vote now. Thank you.

Thanks for the tip. What a PITA. Hopefully that’s resolved when I get the car back.

Apologies to all for reviving this old thing and turning it into a troubleshooting sesh. Thanks to all for the input.
