2017 BMW X1 Service Loaner

Hello, first time leaser here. I have already made the below purchase, but I wanted to know how I did so I can improve my numbers for the next lease. To be clear, the monthly payment listed is with zero drive-off and tax included. Washington’s 10% sales tax definitely doesn’t help with the number. The MF was standard rate at the time which is 0.00152. The final number is after my trade-in ($1500 net value) factored in.

This isn’t that good of a deal. Most people get at least 20% off before any incentives on a loaner.

Don’t feel bad and just use it as a learning experience. I am really good at pulling the trigger and then checking if I did the right thing, it’s only money

I just noticed this was a 2017 and a service loaner bought in 2018. You definitely paid for the salesperson’s Hawaii vacation.

Are some people actually getting $200 a month payment on a 2017 service loaner X1? I tested the markets and even contacted a several BMW’s in California but could only get slightly better deals than this one (after shipping cost the deal would be worse). I initially offered 18% off of MSRP but the salesperson told me that they’d be losing money at that price and did not even counteroffer when I said good bye. I thought I got a pretty average/fair deal, but looks like some people are saying it was bad?

One mistake I for sure made is not considering a new or CPO since loaners don’t qualify for recent graduate incentive (didn’t know I qualified until last minute. Thought it’d be within 12 months not 24 months).

Certainly 200 is not possible. but ~350 could have been possible for a 2017 X1 loaner; so don’t feel bad that you paid double the price. Enjoy the new ride

Hate to break it to you but since you asked horrible on a loaner you should of posted here before signing

Look at this deal quick google search sign and drive $0 down $0 drive offs msrp $44,495 $329 a month
Looks like you got $1500 for your trade in so $287 a month

Probably justifying my purchase a little, but the ads aren’t always what they seem. I found the listing on their website and the monthly payment of $329 is the price after inclusion of (Corp, USAA, and college grad discounts). I wouldn’t apply for corporate ($500), USAA ($500) and grad discounts ($1000) (no college grad incentive on loaners). This deal also excludes tax, tag, title, and lemon law fees which easily tacks on additional $2,500.

The $329/month number is based on $35,200 price with above conditions. This effectively makes the selling price 35,200 + 500 (corporate discount) + 1000 (college grad) + 500 (USAA) = 37,200 which isn’t a bad price but not too far off from my deal.

Also, my monthly payment is based on 12k miles/year versus 10k miles on this deal. Remember, zero down isn’t the same as zero drive-off.

Just trying my best to defend my purchase :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I would have to take 23% off of MSRP to get the ~350 number which I know is doable but since shipping the car isn’t an option (BMW finance won’t approve my credit unless I do a trade-in for my current car) it definitely poses a challenge.

The fact that the 2017 and 2018 are exactly the same cars there doesn’t seem to be any crazy markdowns compared to the 2017 X3’s.

Did you read the ad… sign and drive $0 drive offs
It also says includes all dealer fees so we’re are you getting plus fees
It also looks like you got 2000 in rebates
And even if you don’t qualify for those rebates add $2000 more to the price
Even with 12k a month and $2000 more you would still save at least 80 a month 8*36= 2880
Not to mention this is a advertisement. this is with no negotiating
I know your trying to defend your purchase with all respect it’s not a good deal on a loaner next time don’t put locks on your door after they already stole everything from your house just a saying
Do research ask that’s why everyone is here for to help. deal is done there’s nothing you can do now just enjoy the car and for your next purchase there is a lot of great people on this forum willing to help you

Go to the website and read the fine prints.

https://www.unitedbmw.com/specials-bmw-lease-2017-bmw-x1-zero-down-loaner-deal-dealer-8593-sid-89511.html

It specifically says

“Special offer applies only to vehicles listed in this ad. Final monthly payment will vary based on vehicle and options selected. 36 Month Lease with 10,000 miles per year. Offer valid for well qualified buyers With approved credit through BMW Financial Services. Excludes Tax, tag, and government fees. Special may not be combined with other offers. Void where prohibited. Limit of one (1) special applied per purchase. Other restrictions may apply, see dealer for details.”

This is not a zero drive off. I emailed the dealer for confirmation so I’ll let you know when I hear back.

Edit: maybe we have a different definition of zero-drive off. I consider true zero drive-off as tax included in the monthly payment.

If it is a true sign and drive, whoever made the ad needs to preview before they submit. This is at the bottom of the ad when you drill into it…

*PRICE EXCLUDES TAX, TAG, AND TITLE. PRICE INCLUDES DEALER FEE AND ALL AVAILABLE INCENTIVES AND REBATES.

Hi. I’m new to the forum and was hoping to get some advice on a similar car.

2017 BMW X1
4,600 miles
Premium Package, Cold Weather Package

Is this a good deal? Do I have any room to work with? Thanks in advance.

Is this a dealer in California by any chance? Looks very similar to a deal that I found there. According to some of the members it looks like the price can be driven down further close to the 20% off MSRP price. I’d say keep negotiating and try to knock some more off the price and sign only after you are for sure they are absolutely firm on the price.
